I am still a little confused, was it one of those lip sync performances? They did that once or twice on mtv in the states too so im not hating, was just curious Quote

Electrical Substation Posted April 29 Posted April 29 I am actually confused. I knew what was meant by playback, I don’t see what Elisa got mixed up? I don’t think she mixed anything up lol Quote
thongrider Posted April 29 Posted April 29 I think playback can both mean that you sing live over a backing track that isn't live or that you're lip syncing to a pre recorded track and I think in Europe it's more common to call the ladder playback rather than lip syncing. I don't think it's embarrassing to say though. Quote

twelve Posted April 30 Posted April 30 It’s always nice when this kind of stuff surfaces. Makes you wonder how many old recordings are still sitting forgotten in archives or basements somewhere. Quote

I have a TON of archives from my end (even stuff that was deleted online or links expired on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. Even stuff that's not out there and stuff that even that Instagram account doesn't have 1 1 Quote
_Kyle_ Posted April 30 Posted April 30 I don't know if it's available or has been preserved anywhere (I haven't seen it in a long long time) but is there any clips of Sally (My Pet Sally) on MTV's Who Knows The Band? Quote
Elisa Posted April 30 Posted April 30 It was really interesting to watch this video, but also a bit sad because it shows what Mark talked about in his book, that back in 1999 in Europe, they were poorly marketed as a band that just imitated boybands. Even the Italian host doesn’t say anything about their music and he just describes them as the band that makes fun of boybands 💔 I’m sure their appearance on TRL the day before went so much better. I saw the TRL episode they did in 2001 (Tom was there because he was on his honeymoon) but it was pretty short overall. I hope I get to see the 1999 one someday (maybe you’ll find it in the future @Thibaut182!) because I know they actually spent the whole episode in the studio, so it would be fun to see it. 1 Quote

Those types of interviews had to have been awkward for them, I have to assume they didn’t understand 98% of what was being said about them lol. are you talking about TRL in the states or did they have a version in Italy too? Being in New York for TRL and then in Italy for this show the next day sounds brutal Quote
