genius.com says:

The title of “Wendy Clear” comes from Hoppus' boat, named “Wendy,” and how boaters end transmissions by letting other boaters know the channel is open for use, or “clear.” Hoppus wrote the song while on tour with MxPx about having a crush on “someone that you are not supposed to like." In this case it was specifically someone who worked at Blink-182’s then-record-label MCA.

It's interesting that Mark refers to Wendy in the long version of I Won't Be Home For Christmas who "works at Arby's". I assumed it was about Skye (who Mark apparently couldn't date because of ... MTV ethics?), but I think it's definitely not the case now.

chronologically, it doesn't work out -- wendy clear was being played by like september 1998 and mark didn't meet skye until the ATST video shoot in august 1999. i think for me one of the most interesting little areas of blink's history is mark's loneliness around 1997-98, something that drove him to write adam's song. you get the sense on the timeline it was a LOT of press and a LOT of touring, which takes a toll, and he seems to mellow out and begin to age gracefully around EOTS... he's not super cocky and hot shit like he tended to act in the early days. you get the sense that he was really affected by his lack of a love life, or maybe he was just growing up.

Absolutely, I'd say he still writes about those times to this day. Also 1997 is when they did IHBHFC. So it's strange it happened to him again.

So where exactly did the longer version (w intro) come from? The initial 1997 release?

it only appears on this late 90s kevin and bean compilation: https://www.discogs.com/Kevin-Bean-Kevin-Beans-Last-Christmas/release/2654943. i'm guessing mark's spot was recorded when they played almost xmas 98?

That would be my best guess too, but kind of strange to record something like that a whole year in advance. But maybe.

i think still posting them is worthwhile, @Thibaut182, so thanks. i’ve talked a lot about reformatting this one day into something even better with pictures included, so if you have the ability to save those images and organize them (folder: 1999-07-16, etc) that would be helpful. otherwise, posting them still works. you may have noticed i’ve been trying to back up a lot of my links with archive.org ones — so that site you linked would be a prime candidate.

Maybe a Wikia dedicated to the group? It could look great!

perhaps, though if the main site for blink182online ever gets made (@Aria) i think it'd be a worthwhile thing to have for only this site. i'm not sure how exactly we'd format it, though ledzeppelin.com, of all places, has a cool, pretty outdated example of how to create an interactive timeline with ticket stubs and posters and photos for each show

edit: sorry if i'm a dick, aria, i know something like remaking the main site takes a ton of time and effort

I'm currently moving my files from my old computer (takes a while when you've got 8 gigs of stuff on an old laptop haha) but I know I've got a scan of the showcase theatre flyer from 01-05/06-96 on blue paper, and probably a few other things.

Posted

09/23/1994: The band performs at The Soul Kitchen in El Cajon (Proof of this is the Anime Girl Flyer in the background of the Adam's Song video)

08/19/1995: The band performs at Pointfest 4 at the Riverport Amphitheatre in St. Louis, MO. (Proof of this can be found on the Wikipedia entry for "Pointfest.")

The Poster under the listing for 10/31/95 is incorrect, that show was on 06/07/96.

As for the entry on 04/09/1995, that show took place in 1994, not 1995.

07/30/1996: The band performs at Northampton Airport in Northampton, MA as part of warped tour '96.

03/29/1996: The band performs at the Prescott Fairgrounds in Prescott, AZ.

08/25/1996: The band performs at Sona in Montreal, PQ, Canada (I'm not sure where the proof was on this one, but I had record of it in my files)

I also somehow have record of a show on 04/07/1997 at the Rock School Barby with Lagwagon, and Pulley in Bordeaux, France.

Also, The show on 01/27/1995, this date may be incorrect and being mistaken for 01/27/96, as that is when the ticket stub linked is from.

I've also got tons of flyers and stuff to add, but I'll have to figure out where to upload those so quality isn't lost.

Most of my own items are at least 300 dpi scans which can't be uploaded here due to image size limits.

**EDIT**

The Poopoo Peepee tour itinerary provides the following dates that are missing:

10/13/1998: The band performs at Tipitina's in New Orleans, LA.

10/15/1998: The band performs at Fitzgerald's in Houston, TX.

10/16/1998: The band performs at the Dallas Music Complex in Dallas, TX.

10/17/1998: The band performs at Stubb's BBQ in Austin, TX.

10/22/1998: The band performs at The Joint in Las Vegas, NV.

**EDIT #2**

The date for 06/17/1995 is incorrect. Should be 06/17/94, which is listed, so the green flyer can be moved to this date (There are two known flyers for this show, the one in TFBYM, and the green one).

Also, 05/28/1995 is also incorrect. The flyer shown is the same as the restored one under the listing for 05/28/1993, which is the correct date.

One more thing, the show listed as 04/28/1994 is incorrect. It happened on 04/23/1994, which is given by the fact that it happened on a Saturday. A Saturday, April 28 never happened in the pre-182 days. This was attributed to the potential incorrect restoration of a flyer in poor condition. The original flyer from an internet source (A Brainiac Timeline, google "Blink Brainiac 1994" for more info) is attached below. You can also note another difference from the blue flyer linked in the timeline. At the bottom there are 4 lines of text on this image, and a black bar followed by 3 lines of text on the blue flyer.

@boxelder Thanks! I've been a member here for a while, but never posted. I've referred to this timeline countless times and I figured I'd contribute what I've got :) And yep, I talked with Daveyjones about it the other day. I've still got more to come, as I'm still discovering more stuff.
