boxelder Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 probably needs a thread. thoughts/reviews? 1 Quote
Cheerios4u98 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Dammit I actually really enjoyed that. Sounds like a blend of blink and AVA, but more like blink. I actually like it quite a bit. 1 Quote
boxelder Posted March 9, 2015 Author Posted March 9, 2015 embarrassed to say that i'm into it. agree with that it's the most "rock" song tom's made since 2005. Quote
One Eight Two Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 As I stated before, this makes me hate him even more now. GUITARS; what we've all wanted. Quote
Cheerios4u98 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Someone now needs to find a way to screw Tom out of his own solo project to see if it makes him release more music faster out of revenge. This is good. Quote
Zoltan Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 ok, i've listened it twice and it was enough. this song is a piece of shit. boring, monotone. the riff+bassline is annoying. 1 Quote
Capsov Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Not blown away. Its ok. His singing is atrocious. Congrats Tom you found your guitar. Quote
JarJarBlinks Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Song is okay, musically passable. Can definitely tell it would have gotten cleaned up and rearranged in the studio. Is it just me, or are the lyrics a blatant cry of him playing the victim card AGAIN?! Maybe I'm a little biased, but him talking about "his brand new world", him being "crucified" and "set free" and all of the other terms seem to me to tell a tale of how Blink was somehow oppressing him. Douche. 1 Quote
radioactive tomdog Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 he clearly wrote/recorded this within the past two months or whatever. the lyrics suck. its just a bad attempt to win blink fans over. bring on skiba. 4 Quote
Knapppers Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I like it, which kills me. His singing is pretty terrible though Quote
JarJarBlinks Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Also, have all members of Blink given up entirely on bridges with vocals in them? Jesus Christ how lazy can you be? 1 Quote
M!ke Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 It's not bad, but it's nothing great either. Admittedly it's better than the majority of his AAA songs, but overall I'm not feeling it. Doesn't feel very blink to me, but it's also not really AAA either. I dunno, I need some more time to digest it, but my initial reaction is meh. Quote
Cheerios4u98 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 I like this but a huge part of me thinks Tom purposefully released the song that sounds most like blink-182 first and the rest will still be AVA songs. Quote
boxelder Posted March 9, 2015 Author Posted March 9, 2015 concur on the vocals, just awful. i wonder who's doing drums. Quote
JarJarBlinks Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 concur on the vocals, just awful. i wonder who's doing drums. Having experience being in a band where our entire album was sampled and programmed drums, that's what it sounds like to me. Quote
Cheerios4u98 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Also, have all members of Blink given up entirely on bridges with vocals in them? Jesus Christ how lazy can you be? Seriously!! I remember an interview (I'll never be able to find it, so I can't prove it) a long time ago where the interviewer asked Mark about the bridges in Neighborhoods because almost none of the bridges have lyrics and Mark said something about how bridges are his least favorite parts of songs and he hates writing them. 1 Quote
MyFriendLuke182 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 i try to focus only on the music without everything that happened. And i have to say this is a really good song. Better than everything on the dream walker, hell maybe even better than everything AVA has put out in the past years. A fast song with a catchy chorus and loud guitar riffs. That was all i ever wanted for blink... I haven't taken a look on the lyrics just yet so i can't judge them. The only thing i don't really like is the bass part in the intro and in the middle of the song. It just seems out of place and takes the pace out of the song. But everything that has happened leaves a bitter taste to the song. Quote
