shoop36 Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Why do people cheer the loudest for confetti... 1 Quote
nextmarkhoppus44 Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 because is a moment of happinessYeah, I get really happy seeing the confetti come down. It may be cheap, overdone, and bittersweet, but it always gets me in the feels. Quote
thongrider Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Why does no one complain about the setlists for these shows? It's basically the same set they've been playing since 2009, and these were all shows they actully could've played a lot of deep cuts. 4 Quote

It's basically the same set they've been playing since 2009, and these were all shows they actually could've played a lot of deep cuts. Yeah it seems like Mark was full of shit with the "playing oldies" he was hyping the other day. I guess the shitty setlists are Mark's fault unfortunately, not Tom's. Quote

I guess it is because even the same songs feel new because matt sings them. However i have to agree they should have played some deeper cuts. Quote
Fun, Catchy Pop-Punk Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Why does no one complain about the setlists for these shows? It's basically the same set they've been playing since 2009, and these were all shows they actully could've played a lot of deep cuts. Because Matt Skiba only had so much time to learn the setlists. If Skiba becomes a regular member of the band, it makes total sense for him to learn and master the main hits first (as they will be played most frequently), in other words - they basically invested those songs in Skiba going forward. Ghent Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 WOW! 3?!? New songs? Better than zero new songs. Especially considering they just got a new member and it was his third show and first big crowd. 1 Quote
Speedo Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 The setlist is fine, it's not something you'd tour with but it's good when not played like a mongoloid. Quote

But why even say you've been practicing 30 songs when you're just going to play the Greatest Hits? It's just lame. 1 Quote
IenjoyLongWalks Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Matt probably hasn't mastered the rest yet. He hadn't had long ti practice. Quote
J-Town Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 But why even say you've been practicing 30 songs when you're just going to play the Greatest Hits? It's just lame. Totally agree. They really did hype the "old songs fans have wanted to hear" thing. It is bullshit that they didn't throw in ONE song off of Cheshire Cat or Dude Ranch besides Dammit and Carousel at Musink, songs played every show for as long as I can remember. I have friends that flew in from Boston and Montreal for the show last night. There were a lot of hardcore fans there. I asked a bunch of random people around me yesterday what song they hoped blink would play the most. About five different people told me Wasting Time (coincidentally my #1 too), a few others said Party Song (which the crowd chanted for at one point last night), and someone told me Pathetic. Now don't get me wrong, the show last night was fucking incredible. One of the best crowds I've seen at a blink show. Mark's genuine happiness made me very happy, and it's really impressive that Skiba learned this set list over the past couple months. He's the man. But Wendy Clear was the only song that hadn't been played since the reunion. And Mark has to know at this point that fans are talking about Cheshire Cat and Dude Ranch when they ask for old songs - he even responded on that Facebook page saying they were going to learn a couple songs off Cheshire Cat, right? Yet it appears the only song they learned was M+M's and they only played it at SOMA. I really hope if they keep this going, they start to rotate in just 1 or 2 songs off those albums that are deeper cuts. I don't think fans expect a bunch of crazy rarities or anything, but 1 or 2 goes a long way for people like some of us who go to a lot of blink shows. They're the ONLY band I constantly see live that is this bad at changing up their set list. 2 Quote
allsystemsgo Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Matt probably hasn't mastered the rest yet. He hadn't had long ti practice. The songs are easy as fuck to play. Matt's a decent guitarist so that's no excuse. Quote
