Can someone give me the address of the actual Sombreros blink has a tie with? I realize it's just a shitty fake Mexican food joint with some bathroom graffiti, but I'm gonna be in San Diego in a couple months and want to go.

11040 Rancho Carmel Dr.?

That's what I get when I google it, but there are a lot of Sombreros. Want to make sure i've got the right fucking one with the bathroom graffiti.

Someone here was just there recently. Hope they see this and will confirm the address.

what gave you that idea. it's certainly one of the better local chains in north county. there is nothing "fake" about it. it's a very typical socal taqueria.

You should definitely write something onto the wall if you do go!

I will write a plug in for blink-182online!

And what gave me that idea is that most Mexican food in a chain type restaurant is nothing like real Mexican food. I guess I'll find out when I go in October lol

ah ok, KS. yes the chains you are most likely thinking of in the plains and the midwest (even back east) are not like what we're talking about here. getting mexican food in a strip mall in san diego is like getting soul food in the south. as authentic as it gets.

we used to have a saying in san diego...the shittier, dirtier and more run down a taqueria was, the better the food. it's still the case today. i'd give sombrero's a 6.5-7/10. on the cleaner end, but still bomb.

Well Mexican food is more prevalent than "American" food where I live. And they are legitimate Mexicans running the restaurants, not rich white guys. It's delicious and unlike the shit you get in big cities.

I assumed Sombreros would be the same, but yeah I could see San Diego being full of authentic options too being so close to the border and whatnot.

And you're right, the shittier the venue, the better the Mexican food usually haha

So I finally ate at THE sombrero's in SD. Added a little blink online plug on the bathroom graffiti.

As far as the food, I can say with certainty that it isn't authentic Mexican food.

But I did have a pretty damn good Tex-mex style burrito!
