redhotbrianpeppers
Daisy gets a bad wrap. I've only listened to this new song once, so too early to say, but I think I prefer Mene.

Others (including myself) find it springing between unbearable cacophony and mind numbingly dull. I think the only track I could ever stomach from Gasoline and even then not by much. This song has been in my head all of yesterday, I freakin' love it. way more than Bored To Death when it came out, tbh.
_Kyle_
bad wrap is a good malaprop.
Malibu BeachHouse Roommate
Daisy had some cool songs. I could do without Bed tho.

bojangles
I prefer Mene over this song but this song is also very good and I'm happy to say Im glad they are heading in the right direction, but seriously a 12" for one song? Jesus, this just shows anybody will eat this band up. Also, my dream tour has always been Brand New/Blink to tour together.
Melty Mark
*hides the email confirmation of my vinyl purchase of this single* Oop. Kay
I'm still very confused by some of the negative reactions to this. This song is killer, best song of 2016 so far by miles in my opinion.
Cheerios4u98
I've actually been listening to a ton of Brand New since this came out, which I've never really done before. I forgot, I actually like their first two albums. Not just their first. I think the new song is okay, but it's not really my style.
Kay
Deja is one of the best albums of all time from my perspective. it's a freakin' masterpiece. It managed to be poignant, hard but accessible whilst also not being too self indulgent, that balance seems somewhat impossible for the majority of rock bands.
Cheerios4u98
Yeah, it's great. I forgot that I liked that album so much. For some reason I had it in my head that I only liked Your Favorite Weapon. I've been listening to both albums a bunch lately.

_Kyle_
this was the XMU station, so college radio stuff. a lot of arcade fire, radiohead, vampire weekend, beach house, Courtney Barnett, etc.

Melty Mark
I don't mind it, but there are many to choose from and they select that one, every time.
decisions
Hmmm, I just realized this new Brand New song is actually a post-Catch Fire Trio song. And I don't meant that negatively, it is a pop-punk, mid-tempo song with that mix of gloss and grime that is partial to the former that I associate with the newer Trio stuff. Weird coming from BN especially after Daisy, but it's a pretty decent track. I like Mene more.
