I’ve never paid attention to this band but somehow ended up listening through After the party the other day and it’s suuuch a good record. Love it. They remind me a bit of The gaslight anthem.

After the Party is so good. I think it's their strongest album front to back, although there are better individual songs on some of their other albums.

The three album stretch from On the Impossible Past > Rented World > After the Party is one of my favourite periods from any artist (and to a lesser extent, Chamberlain Waits to Hello Exile). They’re a top tier modern punk band.

New single dropped today, they had another song earlier this year (Bad Actors), but I think this is the first legit single.

Ehhhh, I liked the lead singles off their past 3 albums much better than this one.  I hope it grows on me. I'm still very much looking forward to their new album.

I agree man. They’ve kind of become a generic rock band imo. This album sounds similar to their last one after my first listen. There’s a handful of decent songs but nothing that really jumped out at me.

Yeah, After The Party was their last good album. I don't like this one and I didn't like Hello Exile. I hope The Gaslight Anthem won't let me down at the end of the month.

Still love a couple of their songs from the last two records, but I do feel this band is getting away from being a punk band with vague Springsteen vibes to a Springsteen band with vague punk roots, if that makes sense.

Their last few records is missing that raw, desperate feeling of defeat and the nonchalant shrug that followed.

Hope is a Dangerous Little Thing is still a banger, there’s some good songs, but I’m missing a bit of the attitude they had up through After the Party.

Saw these guys recently and really enjoyed the show. Greg's voice was a bit rough, but I think it was their 6th show in as many nights.
