Aria Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Beth if you'd like to avoid said fight with him we can switch opinions so both thoughts are still "out there". Quote
brocksta182 Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 I'm really impressed with the album on first listen. I think I'm going to really like it after a few plays. Quote
Kay Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Is it out already? Apparently AP called it their best record since Futures, high praise. I will check it out but I'm not expecting much. hopefully low expectations will make it a pleasant surprise. Quote
Cheerios4u98 Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 It's out?? I know what I'm doing tomorrow! But first, I need to sleep. Quote
brocksta182 Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Yeah, it's on Google Play already. Maybe only in Australia? Quote
Melty Mark Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 I dig it. Some of the songs that weren't single I like better than the ones that were released, but Sure and Certain has absolutely grown on me, as well as You Are Free. I don't think I hate any of it, as worried and annoyed as I was with them originally. I was dead wrong. Quote
surfbro16 Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 A fucking + Not a let down like I had feared! Quote
Cheerios4u98 Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Listened to it once while doing homework, so I wasn't really paying attention. I have no opinion yet. I'll have to give it another spin when I can actually appreciate it. Quote

Kay Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 I listened to half of it on the way home from work, found most of it forgettable but Pass The Baby is pretty interesting. going to listen more when I'm to-and-from work and see how I feel. I will say the production is better on this record than say Invented. it's not all up in your guts which is nice. Quote
Broken English Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Since Futures, Jimmy Eat World have been essentially a vanilla band. This album however, takes vanilla to a new level. It's basically unflavoured. There is one saving grace in "You Are Free", which is a great track, but fuck me, write some interesting fucking music. So. Fucking. Boring. Quote
bastard Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Listened to the album today. Gotta give it a few tries. Hope it's a grower. Last really good album was the 2007 one. Quote
radioactive tomdog Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 i think there are only two or three songs i don't like on this one. sure & certain is my favorite Quote
bastard Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Funnily enough I've been listening to some good emo bands last couple of days: the get up kids, the promise ring, sunny day real estate. JEW always comes up too. Then I saw they've just released a new album. Last time I saw them live was 2 of 3 years ago at a festival - always fun to see them. Generally good guys, you can see they have a passion for music. Good band. Quote
_Kyle_ Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 You gotta appreciate JEW. They've been a band for 22 years, they constantly make music, most of it is worth checking out, they never have bad press, and they tour constantly. Quote
Kay Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 I listened to it a bit more, and I quite like It Matters, Sure & Certain has grown on me, and You With Me has a nice chorus. Pass The Baby is still interesting, but not as good on casual speakers as it is with headphones. it's still very casual listening for me, but I'm going to give it a few more spins. I still can't get on with Get Right though, it's so repetitive and the melody / vocals are quite grating in the chorus. Quote
