I just discovered them a few months ago. ** I've done a proper search to see that nothing has been posted about Ghost. And I'm surprised it didn't happen, as long as this band from sweeden has been mega-hyped since 2010. and their last two albums have been pretty succesful on the metal scene. But they're not the typical metal band. Not, at least, when you think of actual metal. Ghost is like you've grabbed Blue Oyster Cult, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and 90's heavy metal, mixed it up, and added a little bit of satanism and obscurity. It all with a very good dose of melody. I'd like to see your opinions. I have mixed ones. I really enjoyed their last album, "Prequelle", although people praises a lot more "Meliora", its predecessor. But also I really dig their first album and how they sounded more darker, groovier and stoner-esque. His main songwriter is a very talented guy, and you can hear in his songs that he's a classic rock music lover, which has listened to TONS of music. You can hear some of my favourites here: Quote

Same for me. I just don’t like them. There’s also another band with a masked singer now, Sleep Token, they are like imagine dragons with guitars and cryptic stuff, their own alphabet, their lore. People love this shit and I don’t get it. But it doesn’t bother me that people enjoy either band. I would like to have some new bands to enjoy, but I can’t seem to find anything new that I like. 1 Quote
allsystemsgo Posted May 29 Posted May 29 They're a bit like Kiss. They look like a death metal band, but are actually a glam rock band with catchy songs. They're theatrical which is what I like about them. They're campy fun like Graves-era Misfits. Quote

Then, I went back to their catalog and discovered Opus Eponimous, Infestissumam and Meliora. I absolutely love Skeleta. The only song I don't manage to get into is Excelsis. Rite Here Rite Now, the DVD is amazing. Their scenografy is stunning. Quote
