Patient #48273
One of my favourites is, "a walk-on part of a background shot from a movie I'm not in." 7
Elisa
Tom's: Can you comfort yourself with a sense of revenge? Are you leaving me here with the taste of the end? Mark's: I'll take what you're willing to give and I'll teach myself to live with a walk-on part of a background shot from a movie I'm not in
Bucko
Apple shampoo is such a great song. One of mine is Pathetic - “Don't pull me down, this is where I belong. I think I'm different, but I'm the same and I'm wrong.” Also pretty much all of Waggy. 2
Dylan_
Going Away to College always reminds me of a good time and I personally love these lines. So simple yet so blink. I haven't been this scared in a long time And I'm so unprepared so here's your valentine Bouquet of clumsy words, a simple melody This world's an ugly place, but you're so beautiful to me
Patient #48273
Of course can't forget the classics, "date fell short" and "coke for a spoke." 2

Jan Backing Track
"I'm talking to the ceiling, my life just lost all meaning" "Don't pull me down this is where I belong. I think I'm different but I'm the same and I'm wrong" "Where do we go (life's temporary) After we're gone (like new years resolutions) Why is this hard (do you recognize me) I know I'm wrong (but I can't help believing) I'm so lost I'm barely here I wish I could explain myself But words escape me" "You seemed so sweet at the start But the start's all wrong You say you speak from your heart But your heart's all gone" "We'll have the time of our lives, although we're dying inside"
Nosferatu
Can you comfort yourself with a sense of revenge? Are you leaving me here with a taste of the end? I never needed to hear all of the pain and the fear Your secrets filled up my ears like the ocean blue I never wanted to know how deep these cuts on you go And like a river they flow to the ocean blue (my favourite Skiba moment in blink) Your hollow accusations no one ever hears Your wounded sense of pride, a guilty souvenir All your protests and vacant excuses ring insincere I just wanna find a car to overturn I just wanna light a fire to watch it burn Now we're past the point of no return and no one is here Can we learn to get by if we learn to have scars If we learn to forgive and accept who we are (Tom nailed it lyrically with this whole song IMO) Have your fill of disappointment Two more years of unemployment (Not the greatest lyric but definitely one of my favourites and it's deeply personal to Mark as we all know) I haven't been this scared in a long time And I''m so unprepared, so here's your valentine Bouquet of clumsy words, a simple melody This world's an ugly place but you're so beautiful to me Blackjack and architect Let's drink ourselves to death The crimes of everyone passed down from father to son Hopeless and destitute Destroyed my gratitude Your strongest lines of defence are all just self inflicted wounds Bite your lips, your word's a robbery Do you grin inside, you're killing me All along we talked of forever I kinda think that we won't get better It's the longest start, but the end is not too far away Did you know, I'm here to stay Stop banging away on my kaleidoscope Stop draining the colour out of my scene Just play me something I can dance to I can dance to anything you wanna sing I never thought I'd die alone I laughed the loudest who'd have known? I trace the cord back to the wall No wonder it was never plugged in at all I took my time, I hurried up The choice was mine I didn't think enough I'm too depressed to go on You'll be sorry when I'm gone This place was never the same again After you came and went How can you say you meant anything different To anyone standing alone On the street with a cigarette On the first night we met Look to the past And remember her smile And maybe tonight I can breathe for a while I'm not in the seat I think I'm falling asleep But then all that it means is I'll always be dreaming of you Don't waste your time on me, you're already the voice inside my head Don't waste your time on me, you're already the voice inside my head
vic vinegar
You say you want to take off your shoes, and walk barefoot down the street, just to be the things that you can be, just live for one more week Are we alone, do you feel it? So lost and disillusioned This place, void of all passion, if you can imagine, it's easy if you try Just about done with your butt, we'll let you know, hey!
Nosferatu
46 minutes ago, Champ182 said: Both of those songs fucking suck, no need to diss one to prop up the other Nearly all of the lyrics from TOYPAJ suck I think. It's why I don't rate that as a top blink album and laugh whenever people try to compare California to that, because they're both as bad as each other. They're no Enema & Dude Ranch when it comes to lyrics. I'll say California has the edge lyrically over TOYPAJ now and then though but TOYPAJ instrumentally kicks California out of the water. It's an amazing album when it comes to instruments and melodies. I do like Mark's lyrics in the bridge of the Rock Show and his verses in STFTK though. I think Anthem Part Two's chorus is great too if you try not to think of the shitty lyrics from the verses. We really need to see this through We never wanted to be abused We'll never give up, it's no use If we're fucked up, you're to blame They could've been really deep and dark lyrics (simple but effective too) about actual abuse and not that teenage politics crap they were trying to talk about.
Champ182
Sort of an unconventional pick, but "I guess this is growing up" turned out to be such a perfect summation of the band and the subject their lyrics all kinda revolved around for most of their career. The struggles and fun and shittiness and weirdness and hilarity and sadness of navigating the adult world when you still feel more like a stupid kid.
Nasa
Oh, how I wish that They would last Moments of peace that Just slip through me so fast Just when I think that They are gonna stay Everything inside me Just starts fading away Sometimes it seems Like all I hope for Just gets thrown Down on the floor And then it seems like You don't love me anymore Sometimes I wish that I could run away Sometimes I wish I just had something to say or: You're gonna drown in the mess you make Your self-inflicted hate You turn your back on the friends you lose When they don't follow all your rules But people are what they wanna be They're not lemmings to the sea Maybe it's time you looked at yourself And stop blaming life on someone else
