Ghent
Where's the graphic novel, animated short, and feature film for that art project? Would beat the shit out of some poet thing.
M!ke
I really don't think they should be recording stupid joke songs anymore. don't get me wrong, it makes me a little happy to see Tom post something so ridiculous and old school. But just as AVA doesn't suit Tom, the joke songs no longer feel like they suit what blink are at this point. I mean I wouldn't have an issue if a song like that was just a bonus track or a b-side, and I don't mind them ending each concert after Dammit with Family Reunion, but I really think it would be kind of lame to put it in the middle of a modern blink album much like Happy Holidays is in the middle of the TOYPAJ album. Zoltan
Still waiting to hear this. http://instagram.com/p/dDqemdru0J/ i'm not... it's a classic example how tom handles blink now. nursery rhymes with "dick" in every line. that instagram post was a fuck off to the complaining blink fans. he probably wanted to express that he can write these in 30 seconds, and he can use a guitar amp which sounds like syphilis.

Melty Mark
You can mature as a band, stop singing about dick jokes, and still be the same band. I mean, along somewhat similar lines, Brand New used to put out music with a similarly deconstructed vibe, angsty as hell and about girls from high school and staying young and doing stupid shit forever. That was immature in a different way, but still, the result of being kids. They've grown, experimented, and still have lyrics that their fans can relate to while managing to develop into a really great alternative band. Most people who like the band have never been horribly disappointed with any of their albums, even when they put out their experimental stuff, because it has always been the same band singing about the same things while also developing as artists. One thing they've done with almost all of their songs in the past three albums is they create different versions of them, approaching from different angles, and they fucking work together to find what works best and put out a good product. Blink went wrong somewhere, but this shit can be done.
Monkey Chips
Yeah, I have no clue what Tom is going on about, but blink-182 is easily one of those bands that can evolve and still be successful at what they do. Now I don't care what you think of the following bands (whether you like them or not), but just take a look at some of blink-182 contemporaries and how they evolutioned. Sum 41 Went from this (Originally unreleased/hard to find) [spoiler]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fEN9eY4g30 To this [spoiler]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47spgCAfXLM Gob Went from this [spoiler]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4ZRlFvW9NE To this [spoiler]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTmu3mFXOg8 Fenix Tx/River Fenix Went from this [spoiler]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2QgqDyg6fE To this [spoiler]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dI2YXSXsxs The Offspring Went from this (Originally unreleased/hard to find) [spoiler]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKUDd5q9Fyk To this [spoiler]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00BgahQTN1A I could go on, but I think you all get the message here. Blink-182 doesn't need to be a joke band like Tom perceives it to be because they are the type of band that has the power to be anything and still be good. I'm sorry, but Tom DeLonge is just a delusional idiot.
Ghent
I'm 100% fine with blink releasing a joke song.
High Value Man
I'm 100% fine with blink releasing a joke song. It would have to be clever. I just watched wolf of wall street and the entire movie is that kind of humor. But its hilarious because its clever. So if they did something along those lines, it would be good. Blink making a song like "I have a dick" wouldn't work. Blink fans are older now and that was just seem desperate and out dated.
Jane
I'd love it if they wrote lyrics with a good dose of self-irony. But that's not gonna happen.
Ghent
A self deprecating song would be pretty fitting and hilarious.
Melty Mark
I could see them doing a video now, where they're all wearing their clothes from the 90s that don't really fit or just look stupid, and all the fans in the crowd are grown ass adults wearing the clothes they wore when they got into blink that they're too tall and fat for now... The possibilities for commentary right there are endless. Like this:

High Value Man
After dumb and dumber 2; and Pee Wee's playhouse at age 60.... I've decided that reliving the past is a bad idea.....even if it's a "joke". Better to leave it alone and move forward. To Blink's credit they haven't done this type of shit because you know people would say they are too old and desperate. They wouldn't anyway, they take themselves too seriously now.
