thongrider
I wonder if that means Tom can't make a BCR record without Travis.
EdBoi
It would probably be a lot different if they made a BCR record without Travis on the drums. Travis has the style that fit what BCR was going for so for them to just get a different drummer I don't think it would be as well received as the first BoxCar record
Zoltan
tom doesn't want to release new music under the name of ava, because ava isn't existing anymore. having 2-3 new members would be a confession that the old members are no longer part of the band. (we all know that ava is over, but it's not officially stated. this way he can still release ava t-shirts, he can still tease fans with announcements of future announcements, etc.) so now he's starting to use the box car racer name again. he can create anything as bcr, but it won't be bcr at all... but using the name is a good trick. also, the new stuff can be awful, i bet people will say "that's what missing from the new blink".

Yes, exactly! Kinda like how new blink isn't blink anymore.

Mark and Travis can talk about continuing the legacy of the band as much as they want (and it's true to a certain extend) but the main reason why they continue to make music under that name is because of the $$$. I have no problem with that but that's obvious.

Champ182
New Goldfinger coming Tuesday, it'll be interesting to see whether it sounds similar to Cali Blink haha. There are certainly whoas
Osgod
Crazy that two of my favorite musicians in Mike Herrera and Travis are now part of that "project" and I don´t really care. But I I´ll give it a spin for sure, maybe it´s good. Feldy is a workoholic...

I tried to get in touch with Alex, who had been in the original Box Car Racer, because I wanted him to be in the second version of the band. But he had gone MIA—nobody could get hold of him." Back before social media, you often lost friendships forever into a dark abyss when someone moved or changed their number.

For example, I was in a trio called Crawl with my friends Billy and Alex—we were very post-hardcore, with heavy influences from Quicksand and Rocket from the Crypt. We played two gigs, and then one of the guys left. We replaced him and put together another slew of songs with the same approach, and called ourselves Box Car Racer. That band also lasted two gigs." allsystemsgo
someone ripped the vocals from Rockband VR. I didn't realize how autotuned Mark actually was during the bridge. At least that's what I think I'm hearing.
jordidanen95
jesus fuck....Those vocals tracks have been beating to death with Melodyne I mean i get it....It has to be in tune. And i don't consider mark a real singer anyway. But he's quite bad. Ofcourse i don't care cause he is a good songwriter with the skills he has and has an amazing tone in his voice. But still. Its almost robotic. You can hear it really well in ''Good Old Days'' Sometimes i just don't know where i BELONGGGGGGG *Melodyne. That part really destroys the song a bit. Super plastic fake sounding....like some youtube covers have going on.
