Green Day act like the punk rock kings but they play live shows with like 6 members. They have the guitarist, back up vocalists, someone on keyboard and other instruments.

It's a great show but no shit they sound better. Most blink songs have 2 guitars but Tom didn't hire Dave Kennedy to play rhythm. Plus, Green Day doesn't have riffs, they really shouldn't need multiple guitarists. Billie Joe just doesn't want to play and sing at the same time.

You guys would roast blink if they played live shows with Dave Kennedy, and a backup vocalist.

I don't see how playing shows with a couple of extra members is a bad thing?

It's not. Their shows are great. But of course they sound better, they have basically 6+ people playing the songs for a 3 man punk rock group. It's like if Tom had Dave Kennedy and possibly another guitarist playing alongside him, and then a backup vocalist as well. Their show would sound totally different and everyone here would bash the hell out of them.

Also blink still had punk elements to their shows up to 2004. Playing fast and sloppy, not taking themselves seriously. It was a fun time. Green Day took another route and got obsessed with the live "rock opera" shit like 20 years ago

Blink 182 is pop punk and used to be skate punk btw Scott. Wtf are you talking about. It's under the punk umbrella.

Sorry Tom and Mark don't wear eyeliner and makeup!!

Green days live show is a bore. It’s less about playing songs and more about Billie Joe getting the crowd to tug his ego.

Yeah. They're great if you've never seen them live. By the second or third time you see them, his stage show is just insufferable.

It’s ridiculous. In the first half hour they played like 3 songs. The rest was BJ chanting and getting the crowd to chant with him. So boring. We left.

Split Personality is back in stock, if you don’t have this it is well worth the price. (Also MrTsurt said it is the piece he is most proud of, and was his swan song as he wanted this done perfectly before he stepped down from his blink merch role)

for a bit there blink did get better, and I think it was a direct result of the pop disaster tour rivalry. I think also a lot of it rested with Tom stepping his game up and trying to hold his own. Tom is the lead but needed the most help. Travis and Mark kind of lived or died with him.

Blink sounded like shit the whole Pop Disaster tour. Which was weird because they sounded great, maybe even their best live during their 2001 TOYPAJ tour. I think maybe they just sound better in amphitheater’s and not stadiums

I've always thought that piece made Green Day come off as incredibly petty and pathetic and arrogant. clearly blink didn't give a shit, why did Green Day have such a bug up their ass about it?

Because Green Day was super jealous of blink’s popularity at the time.

Green Day May be less riffy, but their guitar parts are harder than Toms

man I've wanted one of the split personality statues ever since I first saw them, but it's so hard to justify spending the money on it.  The $15 stuffed bunny is a steal though. def grabbing one of those.

Shipping to Australia for the stuffed bunny is $21.88 USD lmao. $6 more than the actual bunny. Sometimes it sucks living on some island far away from all the cool shit.
