I legit have avoided watching it for that reason. I can’t watch interviews with him anymore. Interviewer- ”So the new AVA record…” Tom - ”Yeah! So there’s this kid in china who has telepathy…” Just no. Stop talking you absolute onion. 1 Quote

Hahaha he totally is, but for me I just have no need for a Diet Blink in my life. I have plenty of bands to listen to that I enjoy more than this version of Blink. So if they're going to go on as a band, I'd rather at least have it be with Tom and just see what happens with the OGs together again. 2 Quote
pong Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 1 hour ago, Champ182 said: I don't think so. My honest guess is that they are basically in an unofficial "hiatus" and legitimately don't know what they want to do next, or whether any of them want to give the glory years lineup one more go. I think Davey said that Mark told him they were recording this year and touring next year but that just seems pretty far fetched. There's only 3.5 months left in the year and Matt doesn't even know if he's in the band. actually, it's 4.5 months. Quote

Even with Tom it will still be diet blink tho lol, been that way for a long, long while 1 Quote

In this metaphor if Mark + Travis + Skiba = Diet Blink... then Mark + Tom + Travis would be more like Flat Soda Blink. The correct ingredients are all there, but they got shook up and left out in the sun. 1 2 Quote
boxelder Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 we had flat soda blink for so many years, and i was so tired of it by the time the band imploded in '15 that i welcomed skiba. it's just unfortunate how the circumstances turned out, with skiba relegated to hired gun rather than equal partner. at this point, any hope for the band as a functioning, creative entity is over for me, and that's more than okay! it's worth celebrating, the music they made, and anything they want to make together again. i'll take a flat soda blink indefinitely. it's the way it should be. 3 Quote
Worst poster here Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 My dream would be for them to work with a rock-oriented producer for an album. Ideally a name who has worked with popular rock bands. But with Travis entrenched in the process, I think we’re stuck with them chasing top 40 appeal. 2 Quote
Kay Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 Flat / diet soda blink is a great analogy fair play. 2 Quote

Speedo Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 I’d rather have diet soda than flat soda … it’s not a great analogy. 1 Quote

He’s a good option for middle of the road between rock and pop. Would be cool to see what the band could do with a producer with more experience with the former. Quote

Scott. Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 I can’t believe untitled is 20 years old next year. Getting old is fucking shit. I just seen a TikTok of the song violence and a comment said old but gold and I was thinking it’s not fucking old and then the realisation hit me ? Jesus Christ 4 1 Quote

Get butch vig or Rick Rubin or something , along with a fully committed mark, Tom, and Travis, ready to submit to said producer and work together in the same room to go out with a bang. Tom would return to his old angsty voice and they would make one last record with some balls and great tones in it. Go out with a great last tour and Tom would try and party like it’s 1999. Okay now I’m asking way too much, but it’s obvious they benefited greatly from a great producer (Jerry Finn). Never been near as good without 2 1 Quote
