My son picked One More Time as his 3rd grade playlist song selection. Unprompted too, after a day of deciding. Made the cut over Morgan Wallen and Taylor Swift options. Proud dad! Lol

My 3rd grader would pick Swift. That’s all that ever gets played here.

My older daughter worships Taylor Swift. So much so that I think it’s actually cooled off my fan hood a bit lol

You know I'm surprised blink didn't get in on Disney's pop punk album... If there's ever a second volume, I could see them covering Phil Collins and doing either Tarzan or Brother Bear (since both soundtracks there are some songs I could see Tom approving of if Mark and Travis wanted to get in on another (potential) Disney cover album for in the future).

Just to keep everything compact I'm just going to spoil tag both the Tarzan and Brother Bear choices because (1] I'm going to list a few choices 2] It seems better to list all the separate movies in their own boxes)

First off my favorite; Brother Bear (I'm a huge fan of Karmic Transformations...)

Spoiler

Welcome (Two version of this one)

Spoiler

No Way Out (This one also has two versions)

Spoiler

And then Tarzan (funny enough, the first song reminds me of Sirens by Angels And Airwaves (the pre-chorus of Sirens at least))

Spoiler

Of course, maybe covering Phil would reignite the drive to continue AvA in Tom so maybe not... That being said, if anyone has another Disney classic songs they could see blink covering I'd be curious to see what you pick (preferably not already covered in the pop punk album that Disney is putting out this September).

Sounds like it'll be a good read.

Given Mark’s writing ability when he’s not phoning it in, I’d bet it is actually really deep and good.

The interlude letter on Untitled would be better suited between Here’s Your Letter and I’m Lost Without You.

Now before you say I’m crazy hear me out. The preceding song is literally called Here’s Your Letter. The proceeding song is lyrically far more in line with the letter, including the letter literally saying “I’m completely lost without you”

Maybe that was the plan!

Nah, I like the buildup with the piano in the background.

I guess it's been discussed and I guess I'm toooooo late to this. The thing is that I've been watching the Lollapalooza show and, holy moly, what Tom does in Dance With Me is... well, questionable? I guess is ok? I don't know. Lots of backing guitar track and he barely doing some licks or figures on his instrument. Even not touching his guitar at all at some point while guitar is playing behind. I mean, it's not new, we all know what's going on nowadays (not inly in blink's camp) and what not. I'm fine with backing tracks as a way to recreate a more full sound and what not. Also I'm fine with some pitch correction and whatever. But I struggle with the fact of Tom barely playing on songs as Dance With Me.

By the way, on that live broadcast the pitch correction is perceptible. They have fine tuned it a lot, and is not 100% on, so to speak, but it's there.

Anyways, I love blink and this period in time. Long like to this band, can't wait for the Deluxe edition of OMT.

You know, I often flip between blink-182 and Teenage BottleRocket as my favorite band (I view them as like siblings or cousin bands because of how similar they are) and the topic with OMT Part 2 coming out and people unhappy with their new music has me thinking...

How would people feel if blink put out songs like these? I know some people want them to go darker, while others don't mind the humor, but I think there's a nice middle ground that Teenage Bottlerocket does (and again music videos are in spoiler tags to conserve spacing on the forum)

I Wanna Be A Dog

Spoiler

The Squirrel

Spoiler

Walking the Yard (this is on a 7in (two track ep) and the title track is pretty good too)

Spoiler

Blood Bath At Burger King (One of my favorite TBR songs)

Spoiler

The point of this post and the songs I'm sharing is I'm wondering if people would be cool with blink-182 writing about whatever and even silly nonsensical things just as long as the songs are sounding good? And it's not like TBR is a full joke band (nor is blink) they've done serious songs too like

Never Sing Along

Spoiler

Everything To Me (I couldn't listen to this song for a while after my father passed without wanting to cry... Great tune with an even deeper meaning to me now)

Spoiler

Just something I've been thinking about as I try to find the song with a chorus that is similar to No Fun (I really like No Fun, but I do want to say that again, NF reminds me of a TBR song, and I mean that in a good way) and the overall negative reactions to not only blink's new sound(s), but the lyrics and subject matter they're writing about. I mean, I'm guilty of this too, as much as I enjoy No Fun, I can't ignore the weird line about being at a Rich Girl's Party and I'm not really into Fell In Love... not only cause of the sound, but also the lyrics are weird for me too (same for the repetitive lyrics in the chorus of "You Don't Know What You've Got" they're now too droning for me to fully enjoy the song).

Is Stockholm Syndrome possibly the best blink 182 song ever?

Finn could have easily produced metal if he wanted to.

The fact that Blink has songs like ATST that are super chill and poppy, and then unique melodic pop punk songs like Feeling This and then even nearly Metal songs like this is why they are the best band ever.  Finn was a genius.  and Mark Tom & Travis were the perfect fit for him.
