i saw that and it was heavenly. i’m sure it was a great experience for joyce manor. dream lineup! i always wonder why blink wouldn’t let some indie-adjacent punk bands like PUP or JM open for them. they let wavves in 2017.

The only explanation is the obvious one: Tom was abducted by aliens in early 2005 and replaced by a rapidly deteriorating alien lookalike. The lookalike was responsible for the breakup, AVA, the half-hearted reunion and second breakup, all movie/TTS related debacles, and Tom just generally having an entirely different personality for over a decade. For unknown reasons (likely because they knew I was onto their scheme), the aliens returned the real Tom back to earth in around 2019, and he has been successfully putting the pieces of his life back together ever since his return.

More like I was in an unhealthy relationship with a family and stressful work life juggling two bands at once. Then I had rejuvenation refinding oneself after a horrible divorce, left the highly successful band on an whim under the stress, and the founding members of my passion project left me trying to juggle the successful band. And new life breathed from an exciting new relationship along with kids reaching independence. It’s crazy how a total change in life direction can change and motivate you physically
