The album is juvenile as a whole and GMOGR is one of the worst offenders. Stop defending it and we won't have an issue.

I initially didn’t mention lyrics at all when I said Time to Break Up and Don’t Tell Me It’s Over are better than Shut Up and Please Take Me Home. They’re just superior songs. So once again, I don’t see your point. You must be off today.

No, I just think the last two tracks on the album are boring musically. I pointed out to you that all those other songs have equally cringe lyrics as GMOGR that YOU brought up. Just take the L and move on!

You didn't say anything initially about the music (or lyrics) of Shut Up or PTMH, you just said they blow. The lyrics of GMOGR are cringey enough to say the song blows and the music can't save it.

No, the lyrics to GMOGR aren’t any worse than the lyrics on any of the other songs. At least the Song had a message and an identity vs “shut up shut up bunch of random f bombs” and please take me home, a forced generic breakup song

It's too easy to complicate is my favorite line on the album. PTMH is definitely a less generic breakup song than TTBU, if you even can call PTMH a breakup song.

 

A try-hard corporate punk message is cringe as fuck, but it was everything for me when I was 12. I used to think awful pussy hairbands was a headband made of pubes and I will never accept that's not what they meant.

I think my biggest gripe with the album is that I don't really believe it. Especially Tom's songs. I can't take it seriously. Enema might be equally juvenile, but it sounds sincere.
