Their songs are short and so good, you can tell they grew up listening to blink and started making music because of them.

The episodes Toby Morse did with Travis and Skiba were so cool. Now he got Tom on the podcast, I can’t wait to listen to it

Their music is super distinct, they have a great sense of melody and they’re the best at writing great songs with really cool and creative lyrics, I think they sorta pioneered the whole 'short yet memorable songs' thing. They will always be my favorite band of the 2010s.

One thing I didn’t post in the other thread, from Mark’s book, is that Tom openly floated the idea of ending AVA whenever blink got back together in 2009, claiming that he couldn’t do two bands at one time. So it wouldn’t be the first time he’s considered the idea of putting the band to bed.

Yeah I mean there's really no point. 

Stuff like Hurt, Terrified (boxcar I know, but still shows where they are at) are being included on blink records. He still has Rubin all over the projects in his corner. Plus, wayyyy more money, fame and appeal touring under the blink name. 

I know it's Tom, and who the fuck knows, but I just can't see a purpose moving forward for it to continue.

yeah, i vaguely remember him saying things around when Lifeforms was released about how he felt like he had finally sort of mixed all of his tastes into one record, and i'd say he's mostly doing that with blink now. i think we're all better off for it. i think the only way he goes back to AVA is if he wants to make U2 space rock again haha
