Who the hell knows, I still think his brain wasn't working properly for quite a long time (or he was legitimately abducted by aliens and they replaced him with a lookalike for 18 years)

the funny thing about the "2 the star" thing is as much as tom was scamming ppl with it u can tell hes not very wise in that regard and was duped himself into it, sad stuff

this doesnt mean aliens dont exist but the proof that were presented were at the minimum bogus and too flaky to take seriusly

when i was younger id make sure to keep any window curtain closed so i wouldnt see the darkness of space and how creepy it is

but now i couldnt care less, happens what happens, ill try to take a pic n upload if aliens try to mess with me

and then ill try to upload on this board before they take me away for good

you will know its real then and that they indeed exist!

Ok…

Famous people…

They are all extraterrestrial.

They all look weird, creepy, abnormal  with disproportionate features.

They always look at normal people from a position of superiority, like they’re the leaders of all of us.

And they’re always pushing strange, mind-control psyop narratives.

I never liked them. I still don’t.

I’m telling you, they’re all aliens  and they’ve been hiding in plain sight since the McKinley administration.

Stumbled across your new video in the NOFX subreddit. You’re getting roasted in there, my guy 😂🤣

Has anyone else ever had a soft spot for this song? It’s such a sweet puppy love kind of type of song.

Yea musically it’s great, but once I got out of high school hearing a grown man sing about the prom got pretty cringe. Those lyrics ruin it for me now

Yeah. A lot of toypaj is like that for me.

I've also thought a lot about that the target audience of Enema were the people least likely to listen to it. I'm not sure if I'm right about that.

I actively dislike this song.  Loved it in HS when it applied lol.

I knew a guy in 8th grade that always reminded me of this song. I will always appreciate the diversity added by the tempo/lyrics, and yeah, most of blink's enema-TOYPAJ songs are just high school memories set to music. it's hard to single out any of them for being cringe when they all sort of do it.

All time blink classic. Corny, but not overplayed to point of ruin like First Date. Second half of TOYPAJ is so good and holds up better than first half to me.

This song meant so much to me from the first time I heard it all the way into my early 20s. Then I kinda grew out of it for a while. But around 2021, I went back to all the music I thought I had outgrown. I started revisiting everything I used to dismiss as “too pop” or “not punk enough” anymore and now I’ve taken it all back, so there’s really no reason for me to hate on a song that talks about adolescence.

Frequently I found TOYPAJ to be a bland, safe emotionally stunted retread. But increasingly I’ve really appreciated the musicality and small subtleties. For a long time I felt like the weird focus on high school was to its detriment. I still feel like Tom was forcing himself to write about that time period for a lot of reasons — retreating psychologically from fame to a simpler time, trying to connect back to when he fell in love with punk as he was falling out of it, feeling commercially expected to.

but overall, I’ve oddly come to respect it. There’s something cute about story of a lonely guy, something pure hearted. Even if does feel a little incel adjacent lmao

Yes, interesting how, based on perspective,

it can either sound like a very serious and dark, mature record (minus the B-side joke songs and “Happy Holidays”)

or also a very fast, sugar-coated pop thing

To me, it’s just a great, solid, mature record especially with how massive of a song “Anthem Part 2” is to start it all off

They did intend to make it really dark, but as we know, they were asked to add a few happier songs in there to mellow it out (“First Date,” “The Rock Show”)

if you listen to Mark singing that part in the second verse you can feel how into it he is, how dark it feels, and how much he’s taken by it.

You can picture him in the studio right there, in a quiet room, just fully letting it all out. Hearing it isolated gives me chills
