BoogieMan
I know this is a niche subject on this forum but If you're a fan what have you been jamming? Right know I'm all about Knocked Loose, Code Orange and Nails just for starters.
Jan Backing Track
The only heavy metal bands I ever got into was Lamb of God, Mastadon, and Pantera. And that's mainly because their guitar game was brilliant and it really challenges you
BoogieMan
Pantera is dope for what they play, I never got huge into mastadon or Lamb of God though even though I've seen them both a ton. If you like crazy guitar you should check out the album Rareform by After The Burial. The runs they do are intense.

Yeah I can't get into that lol it just feels to overkill to me. I just love these instrumentals and are fun to mess with on a guitar
Nasa
I’ve only recently started listening to the huge heavy metal bands—Judas Priest, Metallica, etc—within the past year or so. Always looking for recommendations!

darkarrow
I've been listening to the newest Whitechapel album, it's pretty good. Also Beartooth's newest is pretty decent.

Jan Backing Track
Judas Priest? Megadeath? Gross. @Nasa Ik it's personal preference but I'd always recommend Pantera and Metallica aged well, Lamb Of God and Mastodon have genius guitar work but growl vocals, Asking Alexandria is a decent newer one, Slipknot, Korn, and System of a Down are always good unique spin off ones but hit or miss and Stone Sour is better. Iron Maiden is good for old school. Linkin Park I'd even consider part metal. Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engaged, Trivium, Sevendust are all worth checking out nu metal bands. Judas Priest are great! Nu metal is trash. I’ve tried it. Did not enjoy, haha.
Elisa
I've always been a fan of Slayer, Black Sabbath and Type O Negative. Pantera too. I'm also into Converge, Power Trip, Code Orange, Nails, The Suicide File, Integrity etc. but they're more hardcore bands. Nu-metal hasn't aged well, System of a down is pretty much the only band from the nu-metal era that still sounds good and they weren't even nu-metal technically. Slipknot's first two albums are still great too. And some Korn songs.
