I'm a little disappointed with the album. There are 3 or 4 songs I love and another few that I like well enough and the rest are kind of meh, but hopefully there are some growers.

Anti-Hero is great though. I'm hoping for a funny, self-deprecating video, like Blank Space.

The album as a whole has already grown on me. And the 7 surprise songs were genuinely a big surprise. Would've, Could've, Should've hurtsssss.

Also I'm super psyched that every song is getting a video. The Anti-Hero video is even better than I expected, so the bar is high.

Early impressions:

Lavender Haze- Interesting track, new vibes. I dig it.

Maroon- Sounds like a rehash of songs off last couple albums. meh

Anti-Hero- Incredible. Lyrical masterpiece

Snow on the Beach- She sets a magical landscape here, but it never really takes off for me

You're on Your Own Kid- I can't help but think it would be better as more of a band track with guitar. Good song but the style holds it back

Midnight Rain- This is another one of those "vibe" songs. Has a cool chorus but doesn't reach any heights

Question...?- Love this song. I want more of these vocals! The falsetto thing she's been doing is getting old now.

Vigilante Shit- ? Let's gooo. Reputation Taylor

Bejeweled- Lyrics are a little clunky here, kind of distracts me. But the vocal bridge is perfection and it comes together by the end. Bet I like this more on repeat listens

Labyrinth- Not my style. The ambience songs are too boring for me. And chud vocals at the end, get off the mic bro. meh

Karma- Yes. Let's get more upbeat. Let's do more of this. Bonus cat lyrics

Sweet Nothing- The songs I like on this album are becoming a trend. This is one of my favorites for sure.

Mastermind- ???

That rating stinks of bribery lol.

I'm out of RS clicks right now, but their reviews have always felt the most fair and legitimate to me over the years. I'm surprised by that one though.

Truly, I think after this record she should part ways with Antonoff and get into something more punchy sounding. She has yet to surpass anything on Folklore with this sound imo. Getting to feel like she may be feeling a bit stuck in it. Which has happened to her before

@Vote Ghent you should definitely check out the 7 songs from the 3am version if you haven't yet. Aaron Dessner co-wrote and co-produced three of them. Would've, Could've, Should've is more guitar-driven and the lyrics are devastating.

I'll check those out this weekend for sure.

My post about Gen Z making fun of Millennials was inspired by a thread I stumbled upon where they all make fun of her btw ?

I prefer her faster, catchier stuff so this album was a little hard to get through for me. I enjoyed Anti-Hero & Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve quite a bit though.

I just waited 5 minutes to post again because I couldn't have that happen three times in a row.

But damn, I almost got Taylor with Phoebe Bridgers opening ?
