Ghent Posted July 24, 2020 Author Posted July 24, 2020 This is her best album. It may not have her best songs, but as a whole this thing is incredible. It's so peaceful, slow, but without the melancholy that can make albums like this tough to listen to repeatedly. Magic 3 Quote
Maddey Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 Finally got the time to listen to it a bit more. It’s crazy to believe that she made the whole thing during quarantine. It sounds like something that would take years to make. She really is amazing. So far 1989 is still my fav by her but this album might steal its position eventually. 1 Quote
Patient #48273 Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 Yeah, I'm loving this album. I listened to it a lot over the weekend and I don't think there's a bad song on there. 1 Quote
Ghent Posted July 27, 2020 Author Posted July 27, 2020 I like listening to the songs on Youtube with the lyric videos. therapeutic If i went to make a list of my favorite songs it would be 3/4 of the album Quote
Ghent Posted July 27, 2020 Author Posted July 27, 2020 Being extra selective, my favorites so far are Cardigan, Last Great American Dynasty, Mirrorball, August, Invisible String, Mad Woman, Betty, Hoax Quote
Maddey Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 Last great american dynasty is already my most played song this month lol. So good. 1 Quote
Patient #48273 Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 I was going to try to do a top 5, but I ended up with 6 lol. cardigan my tears ricochet mirrorball illicit affairs mad woman betty That will probably be different by the end of the day or maybe in an hour. And I wouldn't be able to rank them. 1 Quote
Elisa Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 This album is really a well written and made album. My top 5 ended up being a top 9: exile, cardigan, the last great american dynasty, my tears ricochet, seven, august, this is me trying, betty, mirrorball 2 Quote
Ghent Posted July 29, 2020 Author Posted July 29, 2020 Has anyone read up on the story behind The Last Great American Dynasty? Pretty interesting. Rebekah "Betty" Harkness is the subject. Former owner of Taylor's Rhode Island home "Holiday House." Fifty years is a long time Holiday House sat quietly on that beach Free of women with madness, their men and bad habits And then it was bought by me 2 Quote
Patient #48273 Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 I want to know if she really stole a neighbour's dog and dyed it green. Quote
boxelder Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 mirrorball is so good but all of the stuff on this LP is pure quality -- easily the best work to come from quarantine so far. dropped off listening to taylor with reputation (yuck), but this is so good. it's the type of music she was born to make IMO 1 Quote
Patient #48273 Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 I didn't bother with reputation either, but Lover has some good songs. It's worth checking out if you haven't already. Quote

She finally stepped out of her Jack Antonoff safe space and it paid off. 21 hours ago, Patient #48273 said: I want to know if she really stole a neighbour's dog and dyed it green. I want a retro-themed music video with TS playing Rebekah Harkness, throwing parties in her swimming pool and dyeing her neighbour's dog key lime green! Quote
Ghent Posted August 2, 2020 Author Posted August 2, 2020 This could be my favorite non-blink album. I love it more with every listen. Music has hit me differently as I’ve gotten older, but this is really hitting the spot. A spot I didn’t know I had today? 3 Quote
Speedo Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I gave this a spin this morning. It's not for me, it's too slow and plodding. I like Swift's pop-centric work but this doesn't do anything for me. Quote
Scott. Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Same it’s dull as fuck. No surprise Ghent is all over this the dribbling fucking minge 1 Quote
