Unless there is a photo of Mark using that guitar whether its onstage or recording, then to me, its just a random guitar that Mark signed.

I would pay the used price for that guitar minus about $200 for fucking it up with his signature. So maybe $1000? I am being generous.

Yeah, I had a look at the other auctions and most of it is clearly just stuff that was probably sent to Mark by guitar companies free of charge in the hopes that he used/played it and gave them free advertisements. It is quite common for this to happen. Either that or it was Mark having nothing better to do with his money. Either way most of that stuff "owned by Mark Hoppus" was probably either rarely used by him or never used by him.

Therefore it is worth nothing more than the used sticker price of the item as if it had been owned by John Q Nobody.

There is nothing wrong with what this guy is doing morally. Everything you buy is a scalping situation pretty much.

People are free to sell whatever (within the confines of the law) don't like it, don't buy it.

The only thing wrong that this guy did is be stupid enough to think he could spend $3000 on the shit and actually think someone will pay more than that. It is an instant money loser/bad investment. He'd have made more money flushing $1000 down his toilet.
