I like IJBH’s chill instrumental but RI had a lot more energy on the chorus. Yeah and he co-wrote a few songs for Asian Kung Fu Generation and re-used the melodies from Byzantine lmao. Rivers is so lazy now. Quote
Thibaut182 Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 Just found this very rare gem of Matt Sharp playing with Blur on a french music show in 1996 (Taratata) where Blur covers the song "Friends of P" by The Rentals and at the end Matt joins them again and provides backing vocals for "Country House", it sounds so awesome! Here is the full show : 1 Quote
twentytwenty Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 I've been listening to OK Human on repeat for a while now, so good. Not a bad track on it. Quote

Speedo Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 I really like the first 2 songs and then it was just more of the same. I'm not saying Weezer was ever a fast band but this record is reeeeaaaallllyyy slow. Quote

And I think that there will be a lot of different thoughts about this album One thing I especially like is the production on it. Something about the drums on especially track 2 and 3 that makes it sound soooo 90's to me Quote

But I understand that it's all subjective Yeah it's that kind of album, it's supposed to be a nod to Pet Sounds and such so the pace is to expected imo I got more of a Beatles vibe from it, honestly. Yeah, I just can't do a lot of slow music, it all tends to run together for me. It's why I don't say this, or other records, suck very often. It's mostly just me being me and not a reflection of the artist or their music. Quote

While I understand that the pet sounds influence is more of the whole picture of the album than the sound itself, I think some songs have a big mystery tour vibe to them. You quoted me before I changed my answer, so I say it here again instead: I think that there will be a lot of different thoughts about this album. One thing I especially like is the production on it. I did, however, not like the opening track when it was released as a single before the album, I needed to put it in context with the rest of the album to really like it. Quote

I think that illustrates the difference between our ears. You seem to listen to things on more technical levels, more production based ... where as I, well, I'm used to listening to shit sounding music so I never really pay all that much attention. I tend to focus on hooks and arrangements rather than production. Quote
Nasa Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 i have no idea how Weezer are able to churn out so many garbage albums and then every once in a while release something half decent. 2 Quote
twentytwenty Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 I had completely missed that they had released a new EP this year. It really feels like a follow up to OK Human! I'm listening through it right now and I love it. This song is my favorite after the first spin! Quote
_Kyle_ Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 all I can say is that Matt Sharp was the secret sauce for this band. dude pushed Rivers and nobody else does it Quote
Thibaut182 Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 Footage of Matt Sharp playing with The Rentals on the iconic French TV Show Nulle Part Ailleurs (footage dated from 1996) Also if you look closely, Maya Rudolph is playing the keyboards and singing with them! 1 Quote

twelve Posted April 10, 2025 Posted April 10, 2025 Living in a country where it's considered normal to have firearms at home comes with its consequences. One question that should be asked is why she left her house with a gun in hand and, allegedly, pointed it at the police. Quote

If she spotted an intruder on her property or panicked upon noticing something out of the ordinary, that could justify grabbing the firearm. What I don’t understand, though, is why she went outside with the weapon in hand. The article Fap posted says she ignored multiple commands to drop the weapon and then pointed it at the officers. I really hope there’s body cam footage from the officers or CCTV footage to clarify what happened. And… fuck guns. They sell you fear and the idea that you need weapons to protect yourself, when in reality, you’re just creating an environment more likely to lead to tragedy. Quote
