Jan Backing Track
While Oliver may be a transcendent musician and doorbell can movie star I thought his runner ups might be interesting to discuss. John: Star Wars, Harry Potter, ET, Jurassic Park, Hansy: Batman, Inception, Lion King, Pirates, Pearl Harbor, Interstellar Howard Shore: LOTR, Aviator, Silence of the Lambs ENNIO: Basically every classic western movie, The Thing

JarJarBlinks
John Williams is the only name I get "excited" for when I hear a composer is attached to a film production.

Jan Backing Track
When Hans Zimmer said the Simba theme losing Mufassa was actually a requiem for his Dad he lost when he was a young kid I kind of became a big fan though. He's the most popular for 2000s but I can't decide between the 4.
JarJarBlinks
also for the record I think it's weird when people buy soundtracks of movies.

Depends on the soundtrack... Idle Hands, Euro Trip and American Pie had great soundtracks but I wouldn't buy fucking Jurassic Park or something. theedge00
Last month I had the pleasure of seeing John Williams in Vienna: He’s an absolute legend, no one comes even close!
Nasa
I saw John Williams and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra perform music from Star Wars and Jurassic Park when I was in high school. He was amazing!
M!ke
Definitely John Williams, but I think Danny Elfman deserves a nod here as well: And there are plenty of other great compositions of his including television like the iconic Simpsons theme. Kay
I'd probably choose Elfman as well.

Meltdown Tracker
Trent Reznor is making a name for himself in film/tv. He won an Oscar for Best Original Score for the Social Network in 2011, and Watchmen's soundtrack was awesome.
