This is so nuts to me. Anomaly's chorus may be one of my favourite ones. Hell, they may be the best lyrics on the whole record. Seriously - 

"I never wanted to live my life without you

I never wanted to be
One of your sad discoveries" 

The rest of the song is meh I guess, but Tunnels is like the only AVA style song that actually fucking works. The entire AVA back catalogue tries to achieve what that song manages to pull off. It's musically superb, Tom doesn't even sound that bad in it and it's like one of the only Tom songs that actually means anything. It's great. 

Aaand then there's wolfpack.. Which has an okay chorus and mostly a lot of pointless noise. Really guys? Really?

It has a nice groove and a certain swagger that I like and that is very rare in AVAs music (Young London is another fave of mine for the same reason). I think every part of the song works and Tom sounds great on it. When I think of pointless noise I think of all those endless intros from the LOVE era, Wolfpack is pretty tight in that regard.

Anomaly is ok, it's a nice little love song and works well as a closer for this album, but it's not that special to me.

Tunnels is pretty good untill the chorus, then it just goes full AVA...

Tunnels fucking sucks, I don't get the appeal at all. All the others at least have some good quality to it

I don't ever really listen to this album but I'll come back to Teenagers and Rituals now and again...then maybe stick around for Paralyzed - then stop after that.

Tunnels, though I love the meaning behind it (he wrote it after his Father’s passing), and still get chills when it comes in high with the “I am notttt without emotionnnn!”
