asdf182 Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 I've been watching some blink interviews on Youtube and it's weird how Mark and Tom say things like our old drummer when they talk about Scott Quote

It probably seems weirder NOW than it did then, because we all know the history so well by this point. At that time they were getting way more attention and doing way more interviews than ever before that spread the band to people who had never heard of them. If they were saying "Scott did this/when we did that with Scott" it would just add confusion to the mix for all the interviewers and new fans who didn't know they had an old drummer, and were wondering who the hell this "Scott" guy is. It was also probably more helpful to make Travis feel more of a part of the band to put the spotlight on him instead of mentioning Scott by name. Just saying "our old drummer" cuts through the confusion and gets to the point more efficiently. I assume they were following some kind of PR advice like that at the time. Quote

Speedo Posted June 23, 2020 Posted June 23, 2020 I don't even remember half the names of my old drummers/assorted band mates. 1 Quote

There is an interview with Mark and Tom during the reunion years wear Tom mentions Scott by name. I’m too lazy to find it but that definitely happened. 2 Quote

LeGOAT Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 Alright here’s the interview I was talking about. I’m definitely too lazy to find the time in video where he mentions Scott, but if my memory serves me correct, Tom even said he remembers hearing Scott playing drums and saying “He was really good.” So I’m pretty sure he actually compliments him . Leg0 Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 Y’know, the guy who made that site actually impersonated (with the consent of the band), Scott, during an interview at the MTV Austin Sports and Music festival. Here’s a link to the interview: 1 Quote

Would be awesome to have him on the boards That iconic golfball press photo was taken on that day at the MTV Austin Sports and Music Festival and Scott is wearing a black shirt and not that white MTV promo shirt, makes sense now that it's not Scott in that interview haha And here's the proof with a quote : And So we come to the highlight of the day. Mark and I were sitting backstage and got the idea to rush the snowboard hill and slide down it. Just to let you know, MTV had built a 200 foot snowboarding hill and jump for competition the day before. So we found Tom, and headed over to it. On the way they happened to tell some important person where we were going. They then proceeded to get on their walkie-talkie, and to make a long story short, by the time we got to the ramp, MTV was there with a couple of cameras, they had mats for us to slide down on, and they took us to the top on an eleveator. They then did a little interview, threw an eye-cam on me and we slid down. With a small pause to make sure we had survived, they resumed the interview. The MTV Live guy whose name starts with a C, then said "Hey, where's that other guy," and I got a few words in on camera. Quote
