You’re not wrong. He’s very one note. Still like some of them though. Mgk is the only one so far that can actually pull it off in a great way

MGK didn’t pull shit off in any great way you’re kidding yourself

My favorite Barker collabs thus far are 1) KennyHoopla 2) MGK in a very close 2nd 3) jxdn… shockingly very impressed even though I’m way too old for this lol

MGK is featured on one of these new songs and as I was listening this morning all I could think is man his voice is so refreshing in the pop punk genre.  That super deep register is unique and he’s perfected his sound.  I know there are people who can’t stand him but I’m a sucker for his brand of pop punk, he’s special.  I cannot wait for album 2.

Seriously…AVA fans you literally listen to the worst singer in rock and roll history, he would not exist without auto tune…you have ZERO leg to stand on complaining about the vocals and effects on these songs. Do yourself a favor and STFU

You clearly don't understand what I'm talking about so let's just go separate ways on this one

Waffle-bollocks might be my new favorite word and I don’t even know what it means

I’d think even if you hate everything Travis has put out over the last couple years, we can all agree it’s so dope he’s trying to resuscitate the pop punk genre.  I’m really impressed and surprised by the sheer amount of quality shit he’s helping produce

So how about this Olivia Rodrigo tune “Good for you?” That is a pop punkish tune destroying pop radio. I don’t think her other music is like that, but that one song has my attention.

Let’s hear some trash takes about how the mix is bad or something

Never heard it, I don’t listen to the radio, and certainly not pop radio. Gross. Carry on.

Great song. It's maybe a bit too much like Misery Business, but I don't care, Rodrigo made it better.

Brutal is good too. More grunge/riot grrrl than pop punk though.

Haven’t heard that one yet and yes, definitely hear some Paramore in Good For You.

I listen to shitty music made by shitty musicians on shitty sounding recordings. I don't know, that's just my thing, I guess. Rodrigo and the others coming out don't do much for me personally but more power to them for furthering the genre. If you like it, enjoy it. Life is short, listen to what you want and dance around like a retard to it.

Love it! That one, Brutal, and Deja Vu (which isn't pop punky) are all sweet summer jams. Her lyrics are very specific and have a surprising amount of 00s pop/emo/pop punk zest in them for coming from a 2021 teenager haha. Personally I like how she's just a person (who is, yes, incredibly famous) playing music she apparently likes, rather than trying to brand herself as Bringing Back Pop Punk™️ OR a pop princess or something, or just being branded in any direction. Kinda refreshing in the pop world.
