First Date single (mandela effect wtf?)

I remember being pissed I wasn't able to find the TOYPAJ bonus tracks in Norway. When I found First Date on some occasions it always had Voyeur as a b-side, now I can't find the existence of this release. I never bought this single because I had no interest in Voyeur. If Don't Tell Me It's Over and Mother's Day were on it I'd buy it. I have no idea  if this was maybe a licensing issue and those tracks were unavailable in Norway and they put voyeur on instead or if it was mislabeled. This weirds me out. Anyone remember this release. And don't google First Date Voyeur.

yea, you got mendella'ed. according to discogs, the b-side appears to be "don't me that it's over" and sometimes also "mother's day."

i find it difficult to believe that any dude ranch track would be attached to a travis-era release. the only time they've done this (repeatedly) is in repackaging "i won't be home for xmas."

I have no idea why I've found that single in stores several times and never bought it when I was looking for "Don't Tell Me It's Over".

they probably sold just as many of these as the full album and it had M+M's on it. even more obscure than a dude ranch track.

when you're right, you're right, dog. and i OWN that fucking CD single for chrissakes.

although there's no way "M+Ms" is more obscure than "voyeur." it was the album's single! promo CD to radio, video to MTV (though rejected), the works...

it's a bit subjective. voyeur was originally on a more successful album and then it eventually appeared on the mark, tom, and travis show. you're probably looking at over million CDs with voyeur on it sold by 2001.

m+m's was in fact a legit single but like you said, it wasn't on MTV. and i doubt radio stations outside of socal played it often, if at all.

surely. i had heard "M+M's" live some two dozen times by the time i first heard "voyeur."

the mark, tom, and travis show... what's that? (trolling)

You break our hearts over and over with these comments but we still love you. I was 12 when MTTS came out so i'm more familiar with Voyeur even though DR is my 2nd favorite album these days.

Do you like Voyeur or M+M's better outta sheer curiosity?

Here's the thongrider Blink timeline.

Spring/summer 2001: hears blink for the first time

November 2001: Buys toypaj. Stoked to see blink in a store for the first time

December is 2001: sees Enema in a store. Got shocked they had another album. Got enema for Christmas. Wanted the album too.

January 2002: hears "Don't Tell Me It's Over" for the first time and loved it. Buys stfk single after being shocked there was a blink single in Norway. As if albums weren't surprising enough.

March or April 2002: hears "Voyeur" for the first time. Also gets Dude Ranch.

April 2006: sees "First Date" single in London. Have no idea what other songs were on it.

As for when I saw the  "First Date" single for the first time. I'm pretty sure it was in 2002. Maybe even quite late. When I saw stfk I had never seen a Blink single before. If I had seen it in December 2001 I would probably have bought it for the reason above or ask my parents for it regardless of the b-side, but I would also never'd have heard of dtlmio or Voyeur or mother's day for that matter, so the b-side would've been interesting to me regardless, unless there wasn't one at all and it only had FD on it.

This is a huge mystery.

i understand how u feel about it

thats why the picture i made might help you

like that u can say there it exist! and its how its gonna b

some form of porn but for the mendala effect

i think they do something similar with people who have lost a leg

they put a mirror to reflect the one they have on the other side

to make the person feel like they have that leg again

ur example of travis era is good

]as things are often decided for that sort of reasons

but at same time these singles(not just for blink) have been known to b real wild cards as seen with the all the small thing containing m&m

i remmeber seing that single and thinking "humm m&m??? thats odd" but i liked it cuz i like fancy stuff like that

still m and m was a single for the band and a key and important one,

voyeur is a regular album track that isnt known to b one of their big key songs

voyeur is a great song that is well part of why dude ranch is so good and sound diverse even if most of the songs are in the same very similar fast strait forward punk rock scheme

but m&m many tier higher song writing wise and song greatness wise also the riff is extremly iconic

i think the odds are higher that its a false memory that has a level of complexity to it

but its not impossible that they had some rare release that maybe had only be released in the country that u saw it in

blink was rather huge at the time and it was right before the youtube days and beyond

so singles like that were important for bands so if they had a chance to put out something they tought the fans would like

they would often do
