Fucking hell, I agree with MSandt. Stay Together for the Kids is one of the worst songs on TOYPAJ, I find it unbelievable that anyone could say it's their best song ever. 1
Meltdown Tracker
I hate the vocals and lyrics, but the guitar in the intro and verses is like peak Tom.

The guitar in the verses? Lmfao are you even sure you’re listening to the guitar?

Ghent
I file STFTK next to First Date. Loved them as a teenager, but no longer resonate. Better songs on TOYPAJ for sure

It’s not complicated but it sounds good IMO. It’s used at one point in the Urethra Chronicles 2 doc. And STFTK was one of the first songs I can recall where Tom deviated from power chords...I’m too shitty at guitar to know the terminology, but it’s when the 3rd string down is up a fret. To me, that song was the birth of BCR the same way Asthenia was to AvA.
thongrider
I'd rather say Adam's Song or I Miss You. Even if my favorite is probably Going Away to College.

Tbf it's not really a working.

That’s fair you’re not familiar with guitar, but yea those are simple little chords in the verse, definitely nothing to say extraordinary, even for Tom. He’s done a lot better guitar work than that
Patient #48273
I think on a blink forum, we should be able to acknowledge that simple can be great. No one got into blink because Tom is a guitar virtuoso, so when people say they really enjoy something he wrote, it usually has little or nothing to do with complexity or technicality... and that makes sense because I would say that quality and difficulty are very weakly correlated, if at all.

Yeah, I agree with this. Most of my favourite blink songs are the ones with the easy riffs and easy guitar parts. Stay Together for the Kids just sounds great. Although, I love songs like Waggy, Sometimes and Enthused and do find them catchy, they're not anywhere near as memorable or catchy as songs like Feeling This, Ghost on the Dance Floor or Not Now IMO. They're harder riffs to play and stuff, but that doesn't make them better riffs. If there's one thing I do miss from blink though, it's the riffs. Don't think I've heard a blink riff with Skiba outside of First Time. Would love to hear loads of riffs (both more difficult and simple ones) from the next blink album.
