Ironically I think California Deluxe was a step in the right direction after California, but I somehow like it less than disc 1 of California. Oh well!

Dogs Eating Dogs is so good. I was so excited for the direction blink would have gone after that. Still bums me out that we'll never know.

I feel like Neighborhoods was kind of a frankenstein's monster of an album, combining blink, +44, AVA, and Box Car sounds all into one album in not the most cohesive way (though that's also part of what I love about the album. It's an obvious combination of everything the guys had done before). I felt like Dogs Eating Dogs was also a combination of all of those things, but in a better and more refined way. Disaster is a great combination of the blink and AVA sounds. Dogs Eating Dogs (the song) was a great combination of blink and +44 sounds. The other songs were more unique in a cool way for blink, and I couldn't wait to hear what they were going to give us next. Sad.

I think DED is getting a bit overrated on here, yes it was a great time and listened to it everyday but it was just an EP, and only 2 of the songs were great.  It's not better than all of Neighborhoods.  Deluxe and Nine are hard to rank because their lows are lowww and their highs are pretty solid.

Yeah I've never understood the DED hard on. It's a collection of meh songs which is sonically more cohesive, that's all. Disaster isn't good at all, Pretty Little Girl has that terrible rap in it, Boxing Day is alright for a smash mouth cover, and I frequently forget the other two exist.

2 and 3 changes depending on my mood really. I just listen put those two albums on two playlists but delete the songs that I don't like.

To me DED is 5/5 great songs. That's why I rank it higher than Neighborhoods even if Neighborhoods has more than 5 good songs. Percentage wise DED is a better product imo.

Yeah what Cheerios said. DED might only be an EP but all the songs are great. Pretty Little Girl might very likely be my favourite Tom song post 2003. Rap part and all. Fucking love it.

Nine and California are pretty close and my ranking of Cali Deluxe is only based on the first half of it because that's all I heard before turning it off.

With that logic, any single you like is a better product than a full length album.  Not a great parameter.
