I never understood the outrage over the love shirt/beanie…. I‘d rather have one of the band members promoting his other band with a t-shirt than the drummer promoting some terrible rapper on an otherwise great song…

There’s lots of word being spread, mainly from Jason Taint, that Toms been talking about touring with blink etc. Taint is in the know and wouldn’t have any reason to lie.

Idk. It seems more likely it’s happening than not. But I don’t want Mark’s cancer scare to be like Travis’s plane crash, in the sense in that that’s what got them back together, but it ended in a shit show that went nowhere. Mark said something back in ‘08 like “yeah we’re talking again, but the only way a reunion could happen is if we can be like ‘dude I’m not feeling that’ without it coming to blows”.

 

it didn’t work back then when they were a lot younger and had enough juices where the general public cared about what they would dish out. Now they’re old as shit, and if it didn’t work then, why would it suddenly work now? It’s kinda been there done that, but I hope I’m wrong.

 

But Skiba era blink had its chance and honestly they blew it. It was directionless, forced, and was laughably chasing an audience that doesn’t exist anymore. They had two and a half chances to prove the doubters wrong, and it just wasn’t working. It’s either this (which is all but an absolute certainty at this point) or break up entirely. We’ll see if the former was a better route to take than the latter I guess, but I’m not holding my breath.

Tom really shouldn’t set the expectation that he’ll return when the others almost die. They’re all getting on a bit so that reunion cycle could be every 3 years if he’s not careful.

It feels like the perfect moment to bring blink back with all the attention on Travis because of his wife and his role as pop punk puppet master for the music industry & Mark getting better after a big health scare.
Tom is always the unpredictable variable in the equation, but if they manage to deliver some new songs and go on tour, I will be so happy.

I think they will have some music ready to go this time because they don't want this to become another Neighbourhoods situation with years and years of delays. Let's cherish things as they are because this may be their last album/music cycle with Tom. 

 

Side note: I can't wait for Skiba to go back to his own band, make another Alk3 album and tour with them.

Bless his soul, he needa go.  Just has proven to be a horrible fit for current iteration blink.  Not his fault, but time to cut this experiment off (will bother me until my grave there is about as much blink music with Skiba as there is with the actual band now).

I do for the drama, but for Mark's health and the actuality of music being made, +44 would be better.  No chance that is happening though.  Mark has like no interest in +44 it seems or even considers it from a joking perspective.

I can see myself liking Skiba's return to Alkaline trio more than whatever Mark & Travis come up with (if Tom doesn't return) honestly.  Skiba belongs in Alkaline trio or other projects that he's the lead on, he's not a background guy at all, major discomfort just watching him like that.

It would be cool to see Mark, Tom, and Travis as blink and in the off time, Mark and Travis revive +44 with Skiba. But as Mötley Crüe said, “You know I’m a dreamer…”

In the end, when you go to see a live show with Tom, it'll be more entertaining than a show with Matt. If we get that then I'll be happy. Plus it would be sweet to see Turnstile too.

yeah, tom might not sound as good as matt vocally, but he knows how to play the songs better. and at the very least, despite his issues, the shows will be entertaining. with matt they could sometimes be a snooze. mark needed someone to shoot the shit with
