This is what I’ve been saying. Why are people getting excited for a guy whom:

1) clearly doesn’t give a fuck about you or any of the fans. If he did, he would at least try to sound decent live for us but instead he…

2) makes a mockery of their songs live, and intentionally sounds like shit singing in many songs. When he’s not mocking the songs, he still absolutely sounds like shit the way he sings anyways. Absolutely horrid live, and yes he’s worse than Skiba live. Compare a song like Dysentery Gary live with Tom vs Skiba, and it’s not even close, Tom can’t pull that shit off without skipping singing the chorus, and he still sounds worse on the guitar

3) clearly this would be a temporary cash grab. Tom has stated in many interviews how blink songs are childish, and how it would be lame for him to perform them. We already know Tom just wants your money…see To the Stars investment for a great example. It would be 100% certain it’s just a matter of time before he’s out again…because TOM DOES NOT CARE ABOUT BLINK OTHER THAN FOR THE MONEY IT CAN GENERATE HIM

4) the magic of the Tom/Mark dynamic in blink is long fucking gone. The jokes are forced, and it’s all business. It’s not a real relationship anymore, it’s forced just like a divorced couple trying to stay civil for the kids

5) It’s gonna be the same stupid set list we’ve had for years

6) Tom can’t even write good music anymore. Hell he didn’t even really write the last AVA record, and he certainly didn’t perform any of the guitar work. That was all  Ilan. You really want a new blink record where you can’t even trust that Tom performed guitars on?

7) it actually is kinda lame to watch these old men perform songs like first date

8 ) blink-182 has been dead, and will remain dead…despite who is in the lineup. It’s just a legacy act. If you didn’t see them before 2004, I’m sorry you missed out , but this is not anything close to the magic they once had

fuck Tom! He’s a phony space cadet who thinks he’s way smarter and important than he actually is

Unless Tom is intentionally sandbagging in shows again, I'm at that damn show.

I have no desire to see current blink lineup live even if they were down the street.  I'd travel to see the original lineup (sans Scott) as long as Tom isn't purposely a trainwreck (unintentional is fine).

I can't be the only fan that feels this way.

You’re lying again. You would see the current lineup if it was down the street.

but for real, you think for even a second Tom would put in any effort to sound decent at a blink show? Boy do I have a bridge to sell you then…

Yeah imagine what they could do with “Shane” and “Craig” back in the mix. Sky would be the limit!

This is true, but what people really mean, is they want a Hoppus lead band back and played to his strengths - depressing or deeper written music.  Not Simple Creatures, although that was fine. Not California/NINE, that's cringe. +44 was as good as any solo Mark parts in Blink.

He needs Tom to be funny and to balance out any poppy stuff he wants.

I swear to God.  I saw them once an hour and a half away from me in 2016 and it was so lifeless and meaningless. They played all their Dammit-Untitled songs and almost nothing off California.  I was so annoyed and so was the person with me who isn't even a major blink fan and that was the first time I saw them live in probably a decade.  Outside of Mark playing drums for laughs and a couple songs, I was so disappointed and I was trying to fake my enthusiasm the whole time - I still liked California enough at that time.

I've had no desire to see them since and they've only gotten worse post 2016, or more boring at least with Matt playing Tom songs up the wazoo.

As much as I hated California/Nine era, play the damn songs live and a few older hits or no one will take it seriously.

I genuinely am envisioning if they played a venue here, I wouldn't want to see it, it'd be too disappointing and have no desire to see Mark faking it and Travis going through the motions.

Travis is incredible live though, I probably should give credit to that, I definitely was like memorized at times, but not paying to go watch Travis Barker live.

I had a great time at that tour. Granted I was first row and looking mark into his sweet eyes as we sang to eachother the entire night , but I still had a great fucking time

He makes god tier music, nothing else matters. I’m not his friend so I’ll take the transaction of delivering me great music and leave it at that.

The answer is Euphoria. I seriously love it.

Do you love Ilan’s other work too?

Crazy or not, he's still the heart of blink.  Musically at least.

Mark and Travis should just produce most of it.  If Tom allows it.  Would be magic.

If everything’s magic, then being magic is no longer special

Not his other projects particularly but I do think he brings good stuff out of Tom.

I don’t like pre Ilan AVA at all, and I think it’s because it’s just Tom unhinged. All his bad ideas front and centre.

Ive always believed Mark and Tom balance each other out. Tom pushes Mark out of his comfort zones, Mark reigns Tom in from his extremes. Together, when it works, it’s amazing.

I don’t think later AVA touches blink at all but I do think Ilans influence is similar, I think he pulls Tom back a little bit until he’s still palatable and plus he’s a great musician on top of it. unfortunately no one has helped Tom ever write good lyrics so we’re screwed there regardless.

If this is a promotional poster, it has to be more then just a tour announcement right?

This feels like it could be a new song or album.

Yep this is what I thought too. Seems like too much just to promote a tour.
