You guys have missed the point entirely though. It’s to demonstrate that the current time, despite a large delay in releasing new materials, is still miles ahead of where we were a few years ago. 

Pretty typical band shit. They released an album, did an anniversary tour...took a break...then a pandemic hit and Mark got cancer. Of course there was uncertainty then.

Also, I've been saying for years that Tom will eventually come back so my mind wasn't blown by it. I guess the tombots view it differently since he's like a God or something. I'm glad he's back and sounding better live, but I'm not gonna get carried away

These are all fair critiques. What isn’t logical or reasonable is expecting the band to do press just because you feel they owe you something. The album will come out in due time, sir.

You are taking the PRESS DEMANDS thing way too far.

Would have been nice to hear how the reunion all went down, what their friendship is like these days, what the future has in store, what to expect out of this new era. I wanted one nice RS type tell all interview.. As a fan, I'd just like to know what the fuck is going on so I can be excited for it? I'm not asking for a media blitz.

Lol the pessimism and general negativity from some of you during what should be inarguably the greatest time to be a blink fan in nearly 20 years is pretty wild.

Maybe my optimism is misplaced, but I just can’t help but think the naysayers are about to reallyyyyy start doing some pretty intense mental gymnastics to keep the hate train flowing. 11 days maximum. Prepare yourselves ?

I like how I've been followed around on here for years by Casey calling me a dumb sunshine pumper and now I have "pessimism and general negativity"?

Honestly very confused. I feel no pessimism or negativity surrounding blink right now. I'm in a neutral zone. There's no sunshine to pump because they are offering no sun. A void of hype. Why do you perceive this as negativity?

I get where you're coming from Diddy, but you also gotta remember that a huge part of the fun of being a Blink fan in the glory days was based on reading their interviews, seeing them on tv, watching their behind-the-scenes footage, etc. They did all of that standard band stuff in ways that were fucking hilarious and off the wall and fascinating compared to pretty much all of their peers. That was the kind of stuff that originally made me want to be in a band as much as any of their actual music haha.

I know times change and they're not the same as they were back then, and I genuinely do just feel lucky to experience this version of Blink that I thought was gone for good, but seeing the 3 of them back together getting along and playing great makes me crave that other off-stage part of being a Blink fan too.

My original thought was that they might be filming something on their own behind the scenes. Song was called Edging as a tease and eventually they would blow their load and surprise us with something unexpected. I've lost my boner though for now, I don't see that happening

Fair, but like you said yourself, times change. We are not in MTV’s golden age anymore. They have cemented themselves as legends and do not need to pump out a bunch of secondary content to thrive. I also respect the fact that they are middle aged humans now. You don’t have the same amount of energy as you do in your youth. Let them rest and be healthy. The only thing that matters are the shows and the new music. We’ve gotten shows, there are many more shows lined up, and the music is coming very soon. So I’m still struggling to find anything to complain about.

I'm with @Ghent on this one. I want them to do press so I can get hyped for the new album, because as of right now there's zero hype outside of this message board. Guess I'm a piece of shit though. 

 

All they needed was like a KROQ interview or something. Talking about how Tom came back, how the shows are better than ever, and that they're hoping for a new album in the fall. Is that really too much to ask for? Instead we get radio silence until maybe a month before the album comes out. And some kid posting on Reddit that Travis said October in an Instagram comment shouldn't count. Think of the casual fans out there who probably have no idea a new album is on its way.

There's a happy medium between a media blitz where they overhype the fuck out of something and a complete media blackout
