Trolling aside, I could legit see these couple more music videos of the other two Edgings they liked and some bs like that spewed out. "We are just having so much fun together, this is what we want after all the adversity. No deadlines. Just friends together again. Blink is about friendship."

The wait has been eerily long and quiet.  I hate to be on Ghents side here, but man they've been super, super quiet.

It went from being their fun marketing plan to like, wait, a full year of dead silence?

But then again Edging came out rapid quick after announcing return.  So they could just be aware of the ease of grasping our attention all again when they want it.

 

Half of me really really believes they are doing the same thing with the reunion/Edging, having fun keeping super silent and driving us all crazy.

Half of me thinks they didn't get the album where they wanted to, too busy with family/shows and are going to pull some 3 song thing and hype it as the new blink revival and we wait again for some good years of what these 3 songs, ft. Landon Barker, mean.

I’m not hyped at all and I’m a Tombot who enjoyed Edging quite a bit. I’m probably just autistic or something but I haven’t really seen anything worth being hyped over. I had no interest in seeing them live and I’ve not heard any samples or anything that would push me to get excited about new music. Am I looking forward to hearing new music? Absolutely. Am I chomping at the bits for it? Nah. It’ll come when it comes and I’ll be happy about it but until then I’ve got plenty of other music to enjoy.

I just know you've said a few times it's weird they haven't done a single press anything about the new music since the tour announcement a year ago.  

Even if my negativity is trolling, I do think they're overshooting the silence thing a bit.  Like a quick teaser about anything won't kill their mystique of silence.  A years just a long time to fully ghost on it..and the album and reunion itself isn't a secret anymore..so might as well give the fans something.  

It's just strange.  Even if they come out with an explosion of everything, it's like "why was a year necessary".

I think I've made my point.. this is all Lifeforms era Tom lol.

I guess I just don’t see why they need to be concerned if someone like you is hyped up or not? You’ll be hype as fuck the second the album drops, so does it matter how you feel In the meantime? And I’m not being an ass I’m just saying it as far as how I feel about it.

He doesn't need to be hype he wants to be hyped.  Because that's a normal part of an album cycle lol.  We will all find out soon if it's moot point or not.

when you watch that video Social Distortion just put out a week or so ago of Mike talking about their new album it didn't get you pumped?

I'm a rabid fan of this band and I want more content from them to consume....I actually think feeling the other way around is odd.

Our most innate hobby has always been dissecting every single piece of blink media, even when they were repeating the same sentences in every single interview. That's why people don't like the silence treatment, especially now that we have a reunion that somehow feels different from the past.
I'm sure a few interviews will come out soon, and I personally don't even want to know if the album sounds like TOYPAJ going through a progressive rock phase or anything like that, just tell us more about blink-182 with Tom because the last time we heard about that was basically 10 years ago and it was all so utterly phony at the time.

I'm with ya. I see people losing their shit over the wait, and I've always just felt 'meh' on the matter.  If Edging were a better song, I easily could be in the same camp. So perhaps it's for the best that that song was just so run-of-the-mill, at least for my own wellbeing lol.

Selling pre-orders for a record that isn‘t even done yet sucks. Also it stated delivery spring/summer iirc. That obviously didn‘t happen. People who gave them money for that should at least be informed about what is happening without having to look up reddit or social media accounts, that‘s just shitty behaviour from a sales perspective. They owe their customers that.

as for them doing no press at all… big part of why i love blink besides their music is the massive amount of funny content from interviews and press. It‘s a huge part of their identity, and deciding to leave that aspect out completely seems like a stupid move.

do they owe me anything? No. Would i be more interested in them as a band if they would be more public? Absolutely.

i would‘ve completely forgotten about their comeback if it wasn‘t for this site. I just remembered yesterday that i bought tickets to see them in 3 weeks. 
 

 I don‘t think keeping their heads down for so long has any benefit for them at all…. If anything it makes me question the longevity of their comeback this time around.

 

the way they anounced their comeback this time around was so well executed. They sold a shitton of pre-orders and tickets and then just dipped.

So, year-of-silence aside, if today comes and goes without any sort of info, is it safe to assume that nothing is gonna happen this week? Like, those of you who are more knowledgeable on this kind of stuff, if a song was gonna drop on Friday, when would they realistically tell us?

I guess maybe they could drop an announcement this Friday for a release the following Friday? Fml I just want some new tunes, brah.

That's a good point. I paid like $80 LAST fall with a ship date of late spring/early summer. I haven't even got an e-mail update or anything about it. That alone justifies an update
