Of course, I can only picture Ghent at the end of the world, sitting there listening to his little California Deluxe album trying to tell himself he wasn't wrong still as the robots are approaching his bunker.  Never admitting it.

And i'll be right next to him going "You're god damn right"

Idk tho.  Computers weren't even a thing to the public in the 90s, we had dial-up internet and gigantic dinosaur sized computers in the 2000s, now we have computers at our fingertips that can do everything.

That would mean iffy AI, then we have good AI taking over many jobs and human needs, then we have an entire AI takeover/Skynet end of humanity altogether would be the same trajectory.

It's not that far off to be a bit worried about it when we went from no computers to smart phones in the span of 20 years.

My parents made sure to instill a decent bit of fear of technology in me when we got our first computer in the early 2000s. & back then we were really only worried about the humans on the other side of the machines….now it’s the humans & the machines. They both are scary af. 🫠

Yeah, it used to be funny at all the old timers who were deathly afraid or in fear of 'Radio' and old TV boxes.  Which in turn all lead to where we're at now with smart phones.  So in a way, their fears were validated.

It's like the forbidden fruit we can't avoid though.  But losing our humanity for new tech/convenience is inevitable yet a mistake in the end.

We don't need any of this.

Fuck, I miss having to bike to our neighbors houses just to see if they were home...

I'll take the phone GPS and having a phone at the airport though.

Don't worry, Well all be dead in ten years because of climate change.

Thats what they say and they would never lie.

Yep - we’ve been supposed to be dead in 10 years since the 60s … they just keep modifying the terror message to suit whatever narrative they’re pushing at that current moment . There were roughly 200,000 glaciers when Al Gore was born - there are still roughly 200,000 glaciers. They just quietly took the sign down at Glacier park saying they’d all be gone by 2020 cause none of them are gone 😂
