I can’t be the only one who thought during the untitled era and cheetah videos when they would play the main riff part of PUNK KID that I was just a varied version of the HERES YOUR LETTER riff /pattern

I never thought it was a different song as they always seemed to be In the same video and I just assumed they changed the timing of the riff to what we hear in HERES YOUR LETTER

please tell me I’m not the only one who thought this

also the lyrics for PUNK KID sound very mediocre and child like compared to anything else on untitled

yes i hadnt notice until u mentioned, seems to be using same motion to create the 2 riff/rhythem parts

good stuff, the creation of the untitled album was such an amazing moment caught on recording tapes(or pro tool)

they wrote so many tremendous song that, it left in the dark a song like punk kid, that likely would of been on the record if the song quality level wasnt this extremly high

someone made a full version of that punk kid song, its great

isn't All of This and Easy Target also that same chord progression?

I mean that’s literally two songs that join together because of the same riff

punk kid was being created same time as here’s your letter and they sound very similar

I agree. The way Album Launch flows, it indirectly alludes that these two different riffs/ideas became one. I thought it was just the evolution of the writing process for “Here’s Your Letter” - so it was cool that Mark clarified that during his watch-along.

Wait... I recognize that riff from Album Launch but where is this other info coming from? Lyrics, a fan-made demo? What is this? Help!

mark watched album launch on twitch some time ago and pulled out a guitar and strummed the lyrics to a never-finished song called "punk kid" that they had worked on for untitled. a lot of folks point out similarities between it and here's your letter.
