Tenks
That was sick, I enjoyed that - But the Autotuned First Date left me confused. Was it intentionally dialled up to 11 or did someone fuck up?
Scott.
I didn’t hear much auto tune on first date on the video Elisa posted. The ramones nod before it started though was cool and the crowd loved it

If you watch it again, they only turned it on that heavy during First Date, a lot of us think it was a joke, because it was like T-Pain level, then it was back off after that song. Wonder what the reason was though. Agree, for their standards, it's great. Edging is great live. 😂

He is absolutely amazing but sometimes it’s too much for the material. It wasn’t so bad until Neighbourhoods time but a lot of his playing in later years is just… superfluous. its amazing in a live context, it’s sometimes confusing/unnecessary in a recording one. Honestly? I didn’t really pay much attention to him in the livestream. He was flawless to the point where I didn’t think about him at all. Travis being a flawless drummer hasn’t ever been what appeals to me about blink. It’s the friendship and dumb humor and quintessential pop punk experience which was there before him. I definitely agree with the superfluous stuff being a weak point. I don't see it so much on the albums, but a lot in the live shows. Like all those additional fills he does going into the chorus of WMAA. Doesn't sound good. He has been doing the superflous stuff off and on since 2004. I remember even then it was like, a bit too much. But you don't notice it unless you are really listening.

BobbyCuomo
Maybe they can sell the Dammit bridge to sponsors and charge less for tickets. 2

This is fine and dandy, but acting like Travis isn’t part of their magic is absolutely delusional and absurd. Acting like it would have been remotely the same without him is flat out wrong. It wouldn’t be the same between Mark and Tom, if Travis were not there 1

But if someone else had been up there instead of him and Mark and Tom still did everything else the exact same I don’t think my opinion of the show would change one bit. Well that’s what I’m saying. Without him, Mark and Tom would not be the same. Without Travis, the memories and legacy they have of the band would not be the same. Their happiness and joy towards the band would not be the same. It’s an intangible, but it’s true and a lot of you fail to realize that. Sad!

Was it great to have the three of them on that stage? Absolutely. Would it been different with another drummer? Of course, but not worse than the show not happening at all. i don‘t see the point in arguing about this other than forcing drama Oh stop it. Jan was saying he should be replaced, over and over. Without him, the show wouldn’t have been magical at all. It just wouldn’t have. It’s not just about the drumming. You can pretend all you want, but it is what it is. Jan ran away after making a shit take over and over, all he had to do was say “ya know what, that was dumb of me.” But he ignored it so I pressed on. Champ182
I just decided to peruse the Coachella reddit page, apparently Frank Ocean (the final headliner of the weekend) put on one of the all-time worst festival "performances" people had ever seen. Went on an hour late, barely sang, stood at the back of the stage the entire time, refused to let his set be livestreamed, etc. People are legitimately pissed at how awful and disrespectful it was, especially as the huge closing act of the weekend. Anyway, it's obvious reading through some threads that this isn't exactly Blink's usual "crowd," but I was actually really pleasantly surprised and proud to see quite a few people saying Coachella should get Blink to take Frank Ocean's headlining spot next weekend haha. Seems like a lot of people had a blast with the dudes on Friday night. Who would've ever thought that Blink would put on such a good live show that a bunch of casual festival goers would be hyping them up to replace a (former) festival god like Frank Ocean. Feels good to be a fan right now. 7 1
