Of course it is. You have the extra riff at the beginning that rolls into the Buddha intro it’s fucking perfect

It’s a fair point well made, but I’ve always preferred the Buddha version. It’s the version they play live (not anymore, sadly) so I think I always preferred that version and not with the added extension. But I do see your point.

(This is how you debate nicely you yank fucks)

It's astonishing that they wrote this song so early. It's like their superhero origin story. Ironically, I think the fact that it was a live staple for so long made it UNDERrated, because it's kinda timeless instead of tied to a certain era.

If it was just sitting there on Buddha and Cheshire all these years, and everyone just thought of it as a 30 year old Blink song, I think people would lose their shit about how amazing it was. The iconic bass intro, iconic guitar riffs, iconic chorus, quintessential "Blink" lyrics, the fact that it was the first song they started writing together after they met, it's like they perfected their early scrappy punk rock sound on the first try. Legendary song.

Speaking of intros, I've always love the pre-intro they used to play on the pop disaster tour:

The melancholy of this little intro they did in 2002 is what gets me, then boom, the bass solo slaps you in the face. TOP 3 blink song.

This was great, hadn’t heard it before.

I felt like they had a good idea for the intro here, it was a bit rough around the edges but they could easily tweak some stuff and make it sound great

I always loved the Buddha version much more than the Cheshire Cat version. Never bought the claim that it was the first song they ever wrote together though. I mean if so, why not include it on Flyswatter or 21 Days? It's better than just about everything on those releases, except maybe the early version of Degenerate.
