I always loved the Buddha version much more than the Cheshire Cat version. Never bought the claim that it was the first song they ever wrote together though. I mean if so, why not include it on Flyswatter or 21 Days? It's better than just about everything on those releases, except maybe the early version of Degenerate.

My guess it was just parts of it and not the full song. And I think Romeo and Rebecca and Better Days are better songs. Time too, maybe.

Speaking of intros, I've always love the pre-intro they used to play on the pop disaster tour:

The melancholy of this little intro they did in 2002 is what gets me, then boom, the bass solo slaps you in the face. TOP 3 blink song.

whoa this takes me back.

I’ve always kinda enjoyed the Buddha version more. At least from a mixing perspective. That being said, I’m kinda glad they’re not playing it this tour. I feel like this is a song they’ve outgrown.

Bruh. Shit opinion. Song should never leave the setlist.

Idk, Tom’s seemed to struggle when performing it post-hiatus. Would rather go with M+Ms or Josie if we’re talking Scott-era songs in the set

Carousel is iconic. It deserves to be there forever. Those songs are great too but lets be real. Tom sounds wayy different this tour so it could sound wayy better.

Carousel is in the top ten blink all time songs, legendary.

oh yes no doubt

whenever i think of carousel, instantly, i remember that era it came out in and how blink was stealing the show as one of those fast striped down highly distorted guitar music genre band

they were writing these insanely great songs while being seen as this goofy fast punk rock band, they were better than any one else around them

and that carousel song was prety much their first big musical moment and prety much the pineacle of those songs they were writing at the time

its amazing in its riffs, in its making and subject matter, very impressive to see some young 19yo(i think they were about that age at the time?) write that sort of song

that song alone was a big teller that they were songwriting gods in the making
