Anthem Part 3 charting better than DWM is bad isnt it?

Honestly, I have no idea how singles/charts work at all nowadays. Anthem 3 might have a bump just from the people who wanted to check out the first track of the new album?

Overall, DWM has 8.3 million streams on Spotify, Anthem 3 has 3.7 million. DWM music video has 4.2 million views on YouTube, Anthem 3 lyric video has 736K. I have no idea if anything other than OMT was even designated as a "radio single." I haven't heard any of them on the radio even though OMT has been #1 on the Alternative Billboard chart for the last few weeks. It's all nonsense! Haha

Any news? Did we dethrone Drake from #1 in the US?

Columbia's blink-182 log the year's first #1 rock album on the HITS Top 50, with the debut of One More Time..., which opens with 118.6k. One More Time... is the first rock set to open at #1 since Red Hot Chili Peppers' Unlimited Love debuted in April of 2022.

Only 1.5k units separate the SoCal punk vets from Drake at #2—For All the Dogs (OVO/Republic) moves 117k in its third week.

It will be so close. Wow. I think final Billboard numbers are only released on Sunday, though, so Drake can still come out on top.

The charts are updated on Tuesdays, so we’ll still have to wait a few days. Data collection is Friday-Thursday though (hence why the label already put the bonus tracks up for streaming today), so what’s done is done, as far as sales/streams go.

Yes, but Billboard usually releases some stats earlier. Like these, last sunday: https://www.billboard.com/music/chart-beat/bad-bunny-nadie-sabe-lo-que-va-a-pasar-manana-number-one-billboard-200-albums-chart-1235451431/

The fact that blink is one of the few large rock bands still able to move that much product and debut so high on the charts is a big suggestion to the music industry that there’s still life left in them. that they’re on track for a lucrative late career, on the level of huge bands like Metallica or the Rolling Stones before them

Yes, not many rock/alternative acts from blink's era have had the same longevity and multigenerational cross-appeal. If someone had to bet back then (1999/2000), I doubt most people would believe that for blink instead of lots of other bands.

Truth is they have kept far more relevant than arguably bigger draws from the 90s, such as The Offspring or The Smashing Pumpkins. At this point, blink is even outselling the (fucking gigantic) Red Hot Chili Peppers regarding domestic first week sales...

Blink are huge. They’re going to topple Green Day by the end of their careers imo. They also have a cult following. Not many bands have the following blink have. No 2 in the UK, they were never topping the Stones, would have been easily no1 in most weeks this year. Looks like they’re going to go no1 in the states or very close at least. We’re talking about an iconic band at this point and fuck knows where they could have gone if they didn’t split in their prime.

I mean I’ve always felt like this:

Dookie > Dude Ranch (not me personally, but just being honest, it’s close)

Nimrod, Warning, Insomniac = Enema, Toypaj

American Idiot = Self Titled

Neigherborhoods > Uno, Dos, Tres

21st Century = Neighborhoods (again, not me personally)

Father of All, Rev Radio = Cali/Nine

OMT >> American Dream (so far)

Influence gap has shrunken quite a bit as well.  Used to be Green Day, but newest wave is all blink.  Blinks side projects are amazing too.

Green Day have sold 25 million records more than blink right now. I'm not saying that says anything on the quality but come on. Blink never reached that level of fame even though yes they are pretty huge for an alternative band.
