Green Day have sold 25 million records more than blink right now. I'm not saying that says anything on the quality but come on. Blink never reached that level of fame even though yes they are pretty huge for an alternative band.

I know green day are the bigger band but if both bands continue on their trajectories then yes Blink can topple them, I don’t mean in album sales because those days are long gone, impossible to catch up on that front with streaming taking over but I think the generally opinion on both bands can change.

Ah okay that makes sense yeah. Blink even with Skiba during Cali and now during this era have the momentum over Green Day in the last decade.

Hopefully Green Day can bounce back the same way blink did as I love both bands.

Cool, but seeing California also made it number 1 makes it a little less cool. That album sucked and I would never once describe it as a number 1 album

I think they just somehow got lucky with the timing with that one.

Disagree.

Not to be dramatic but it ruined the album for me.

19 songs is just bloated now, 17 was the perfect 'long-ish' album that flowed all together nicely and then the two songs you might not like as much were okay because a banger right after.

Cut Me Off and See You are fine, and they aren't bad songs, but served better as bonus tracks down the way, because they are essentially just like the average tracks of the album.  So now it's just more of the same and saturates everything.

It was much smarter to cut them to not bloat the album with the same type of songs.

Can’t you just listen to the regular version of the album, and then listen to the bonus songs separately of you want to? If it ruins the album for you, don’t listen to that version of the album.

It is the official album now.  There's 2 official albums.  It's annoying.

I can look past it, but it's still annoying.

Maybe when my vinyl shows up.

That album was pushed really hard. As much as I dislike all what has been discussed about it, it was an album of its time. Done to be a hit. So, from that point of view, that worked and was a success. Kudos for that to Feldy and the band.

That’s definitely a you thing.

I disagree, this is a we problem. This is a trickle down ecosystem, I’m bringing you with me.

This is the way.

I'm more impressed by the longevity of them being able to go #1 than anything.  I could not care less about a #1 album or not on the billboard charts, but the fact they can still do it whenever they feel like it is crazy.
