Sounds so cool. The fell in love one is cool too. Wish you could hear that more clearly in the song

It’s called turn the drums down and make stuff like this more prominent. They are well written songs, just cluttered with MGK-isms

Is MGK the new boogeyman now that Feldy is gone?

Jan is just obsessed with Travis being a bad producer. It’s weird. Think Travis may have slept with one of Jan’s girlfriends.

I don’t like his style of producing - doesn’t make him a bad producer ?‍♂️

Not much is going to change there, as I’ve already heard 5 of the songs + snippets to know.

But if it bothers you that much to comment on it I can definitely stay hush about it for a while and not ruin the fun.

Okay good, because the problem with the drums is they’ve always been excessively over the top, but it sounded awesome because it was in the backdrop.  Now it’s entirely in the forefront, bass and boom sound turned up to 1000 and it’s truly exhausting to listen to on what are rather good songs with fine drum writings otherwise.  Not to mention the tone is worse than Metallica - St. Anger, it sounds like a midi keyboard.

I digress, it’s nowhere near as ‘bad’ as MGK level hip hop heavy thick drums, but the style still remains.

Travis and Feldmann are just masturbators in the studio, they can’t ever let a song just breathe.

Saw this on reddit and thought it was neat

Hearing this now makes me question what Travis is doing. Sounds like a neighborhoods song was recorded and then got mixed to something else. I didn’t even know there was synth in the song.

Making sure the drums are the loudest thing in every song.

Okay Steve Albini.

It’s just the basics. You should learn them before spending so much of your time criticising Travis production style.

Lol says man who is still doing the same John Travolta meme as the Kansans about why anyone could possibly have qualms about Travis and Feldmann style productions involved with Blink.

If it doesn't matter to you, it doesn't. But there's reasons why a lot of those other pop-punk bands always sound same-ey and less original than Blink 182.  Throwing your drums at the forefront of everything is just selfish.  Smiling and waving just means nothing is ever gonna change.

Not everything needs to be front and centre. These synths are meant to be subtle and  are added to give a fuller sound and not be the main focal point.

That would make sense if I knew they were even in the song. Most of the sounds from that clip can’t even be heard. An entire guitar riff and synth part I can’t even hear. Their music definitely wasn’t this way neighborhoods and prior. I won’t blame Travis entirely though, this has been a Rubin critique from people for these muddy mixes post critter ava too.

I didn’t mention drums once. Just the synths are intentionally not a focal point. Weird diversion.

Take a look through this thread and see the amount of people finding out new things about a song they’ve heard 1000’s of times that they’re only hearing because it’s stripped back to individual tracks. Same thing with this atmos thing that lets you hear different parts.

@Dont Know What Jans Got you should have a read too. You’re praising Finn in that thread for hiding subtle synth lines yet now you think it’s bad production? Weird.

I've already seen and watched all the ATST and WMAA, Rick Beato videos.

Doing it just to do it vs. doing it well is basically what the difference is here.  All I hear is a million things going on half the time in every new blink track, good song or not, doesn't ruin it, just is a bit of an annoyance.  Finn never on a single song has made it feel like too much is going on.
