They’ve been shit for years now. Bigger band that blink but do we think blinks later work could see them overtake green day especially if they keep putting out shit like this?

Genuinely, Skiba era Blink released better records than Green Day in that time period.

It's just the same song written over and over again. Honestly Warning was the last good Green Day album.

I'm a huge green day fan and I prefer Skiba blink over green days releases from trilogy onwards.

That being said I like the new song and I want to see what this album will bring.

I wouldn't say California/Nine blink was better, similar uncreative, unimaginative, formulaic shit, but at least tried doing something different.  They were heading that same direction though, pumping out songs/albums, and throwing whatever at the wall without much thought. 

Thank god Blink redeemed themselves with One More Time. 

I haven't liked anything from Green Day since American Idiot.

New song is just fogetable whatever.  It's like reaching for the American Idiot charm, but coming at it with all the creativity of the trilogy era.  Making for a filler of a release. How was this band ever my second all time favorite band?  It's so baffling to me.  These last 5 releases have actively turned me off of Green Day, and have me now thinking that they release more misses than hits, when it definitely used to be the other way around.

Last full record by them I enjoyed was 21st (yeah, I know a lot of people here don't enjoy the album, but it was the last good one for me...) that being said though, I'm tired of their shtick...

Yeah, I know Green Day turned into a political band, but I miss the stuff like Basket Case or Whatsername. Heck, take a page out of Jimmy Buffett and write a song like Cheeseburger In Paradise. Just do something fun and different from the normal tired act they've been doing lately.

How do they keep getting away with putting the same song over and over and oooover again? Same melodies, same guitar tone, same guitar parts, same subject, same everything. It's doo-doo, it's ass.

i'm a huge green day fan, like i'll shuffle their entire discog without skipping anything outside Father of All (yes, including the trilogy and revolution radio) but yeah something feels pretty stale about this song at this point

hope the next song is a bit more fun. and i honestly just don't care for these kinda lyrics at this point

Well that's simply not true. You can listen to the song father of all from the last album. It's pretty bad but it sounds nothing like this. Or then from the previous album you can listen to bang bang which is a straight up punk rock song which also sounds nothing like the other two. 

I dislike everything after 21stCB but saying that they sound the same is just arrogance. It's like when you go to the green day forum and they say that the new blink album is just another pop punk album and nothing special.

I'm actually really shocked, but that song is really decent... Funnily enough, it compelled me to listen to it a second time (and this was a foot-tapper) which is a first time in a while Green Day managed that.

Much better than the first song.
