The first group of albums I ever got, my parents bought for me (strangely good moment from them) was Gorillaz, Smash, and International Superhits. And I think The Hives for some reason too. I think they were supposed to get Dookie but got this instead. So it holds a very strong place in my musical heart and I want to nerd out about it. But nobody else has it so I can never nerd out about it. I used to obsess over everything from the artwork to the track list. The track list is amazing on there. Idc if it’s a compilation. Pop rocks & coke. After that I’d have to go Warning or Insomnia as favorite. Getting American Idiot at a bookstore because they were sold out everywhere else was peak emo phase though. I remember being full emo at that point. I want to see a picture of Jan looking like JD Vance Quote

thongrider Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 I started with Nimrod, got International Superhits. Upgraded to Kerplunk in a few months. 1 Quote
Electrical Substation Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 lol what is going on. Don’t make me say something nice today you bastards Quote
Elisa Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 I love International Superhits! I think from age 13 to 25 Dookie was my favorite GD album. Then Insomniac took over from 2016 to a few years ago (2022?) when I settled on Warning, which is the most interesting and unique direction of any GD album. As I grow older Warning is the album that I relate (and return) to the most, I guess it resonates more with me now because of its nostalgic/acoustic sound. And the songwriting is just great. I still love Dookie and Insomniac very much, but I rarely listen to them these days. I actually haven’t spun Warning in a while tbh, but I’ll dust it off as soon as autumn starts. 2 Quote

Jan Mortensen Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 I like Brain Stew! On my own, here we go! First song learned on guitar. 1 Quote

Electrical Substation Posted September 6, 2025 Posted September 6, 2025 Look at all you Green Day glazers in here ☺️ Quote
thongrider Posted September 6, 2025 Posted September 6, 2025 They used to be almost unfuckwithable at some point. Quote
twelve Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 I used to like them as much as Blink. I don’t know what happened, but I stopped caring about this band a long time ago. I might check out a new album when it comes out, but I don’t drop everything I’m doing to listen to it. I don’t even remember any songs from their last album. The last one that comes to mind is Graffitia. Quote
thongrider Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 They went from great to fine to cringe before you can count to tre. In Spanish 2 1 Quote
