Remember when the guy from Reddit was right about like 80% of the stuff so far so we believed him said this was about Marks cancer?

what a douche

Ok that must be why I thought it was gonna be about Mark’s cancer. I mean it seems like an easy assumption to make when it was revealed to be a Mark-only song. Only other thing I speculated it (before it released) could be about was when Mark got the (bad) news that Tom. Was. Out. (again)….IDK. Doesn’t matter. It’s neither of those.

I was wondering…didn’t someone on here make a post about an interview Travis did with his daughter recently and when he brought up this song, Alabama wanted to move on and not talk about it?

EDIT: Found the video but it doesn’t really add anything (sorry for the Italia)

Yeah…idk bunch of weird speculation when just ends up being fun as hell love breakup song

OMT and YDKWG and Anthem partly all about Marks cancer scare and death.  Plus Otherside about his bass tech passing away early.

this is kind of the vibe i get -- creative license is fine, but i feel like so often in the later mark work you see him write these types of lyrics he clearly doesn't feel ("why can't we get divorced for christmas?" in NACS from 2019).

Either that or Skye is secretly #TeamTree which led to this song.

Love this song, amazing pop punk jam.

I really don’t care that this might not be “personal” to mark or whatever and he’s just writing a sign as a story teller. There’s nothing wrong with that.

He doesn't really talk about it in the interview of course, but the few things he mentioned in passing made me believe the divorce has been harder on him than we thought.

This seems to be an early fan favorite.

Imo, it's just good. Kinda think they have written this song before a dozen times and better (and I don't need to search further than "Pin The Grenade"). I prefer "Other Side" as the Mark pop-punk/skate punk throwback tune of OMT.

Complete speculation, but Tom has always seemed like much of a recluse and the type that devoted most of his personal time to his family. And didn’t have time for a social life outside work and his family. I feel like divorce is the hardest for those types since it’s your whole world even if you’re the one wanting out. It’s completely hitting the reset button on your life.

That is true... I remember Tom touching on this in his pursuit of sound documentary where he mentioned that his dream lifestyle was to be in a suburban home having a backyard BBQ, nothing lavish, but chilling and surrounded by family.

So this is Alabama's favorite song because she relates to Tom's divorce? ?

Or her parents divorce.

Seriously though, it's even more relatable if you're 15 like her and you have a crush and then you break up and all that stuff.
