Hurt (Interlude) Track Discussion

Just like Obvious or Down proved Box Car Racer style fits nicely into blink, Hurt shows that AvA influences combined with Mark and Travis can be top as well. Although we already kinda saw that on Ghost on the dancefloor

I kind of like Hurt ngl.  The little instrumental piano(?) is really chilling.  I find it a nice little vibe, not a skip for me.

I can just picture Mark in the editing room watching over this one and making sure it stops at exactly 1 minute and 22 seconds and then slammed the stop button.  "That's all the AvA you get"

this one has been growing on me more than i expected. i kind of wish they made a full song out of it. it has some of my favorite lyrics on the album

This song ain’t that bad now that I think of it. Pretty cool actually. I totally got what Tom was trying to do with AVA once this edible kicked in.

I like Hurt, I like WDNTW though. Wish it was longer and wish it flowed better into Turpentine.

A small issue with this song is that I wish it would fade out at the end instead of just stopping. Other than that I like it though.

I don’t understand understand the WDNTW comparisons. This is something straight out of the AVA EPs post-TDW, pre-lifeforms.

It’s so clear that this was at one time a full AVA song that got cut. Part of me really wants to hear the entire thing, but part of me also knows it probably doesn’t go anywhere and that is why it was turned into an interlude. Probably best this way. Maybe on a future album they can pull it off.

Not the biggest Ava fan but it’s nice to hear this on the album tbh. It’s grown on me massively. I hate how it ends to abruptly though

Found this out on Chorus because they have their own album discussion thread for OMT, but this song actually has a star by its name on Apple Music... Did some research and apparently that means it's the one of the most played on the album.

Other notable starred songs (besides Hurt) are Anthem Part 3, One More Time, Turpentine, Fuck Face, Childhood

I think it’s because “baby’s first AVA song” for the regs. 
 

however, I enjoy it. Sometimes you are in the mood for some Tom-yodeling-in-the-bathroom type songs.
