Jan aint wrong.  I think she's saying that it was intentionally meant to sound like AvA.  And not intentionally meant to sound horrible.

If it was intentionally meant to sound like AaA, then it was intentionally meant to sound horrible.

It’s not really a song to me. Just some little ooohs and Ahhs that don’t really go anywhere. It’s called an interlude for a reason. It’s no surprised it’s a skip track for most my man, Jan.

Its just Bored to Death ava style.

If it's an interlude, is it really a skip 'track' worth bitching about?..

I'm genuinely surprised how much Hurt went over so many 'dedicated' fans heads.

It's intentionally the AvA insertion into the album, it's all a vibe/feel, not meant to be this stellar deep immense AvA song.  It's meant to give you a quick dip into that style to complete the mega variety treat that is OMT.  It never tries to be an important song or mean much.

… or, they could have done that but like, actually in a good way?

I am not opposed to the idea of doing an AVA styled track to show their variety of styles (I don’t think that was their plan though) but there have been good AVA songs, even recently - so why shove this piece of shit on the record?

it’s a half baked unfinished thought. The fact that Fuck Face and Turn This Off are actually more structured than Hurt hilarious and embarrassing.

How, Kay, how would they do this?  If they did this it would just be a full song, a la Dance With Me.

If anything, it shows maturity on Tom's end (or Rubin assisting, based on what he said), to keep it short and sweet and just an interlude to show it's in the past now and was just a time/part of him.  Keeping it short and sweet was sort of a statement.

It's okay Tom, I got it.

You might want to reread what I actually posted because it being short wasn’t my complaint.

Can we at least agree Carousel is the All the Small Things of Cheshire Cat?

Its so funny when Jan does the whole “I’m so much smarter than the rest of you” posts and they just make him look like the dumbest cunt getting around.

This is more just a vicious cycle.  It’s no different than the b movie arguments, fighting the gravity, or MGK homaging vs copying.  I’m not sure what level of ‘question if these people should even be allowed to operate vehicles’ that puts some of you on,  but it’s not a matter of me trying to be smarter, it’s simple tone recognizing.  Hurt has purpose on the album.  It’s not meant to blow you away either, hence falling right before Turpentine, which is meant to blow you away.  Not every song needs to.  Blast to the past Tom, leaving it short and sweet. Mark joining in to cherry on top the new movement in their lives.  It’s not meant to be a “40 second clip AvA old demo song” like some of you are trying to pin it as just to cope with whatever it is Hurt triggers in you with its vulnerable lyrics.

Im not saying I’m smarter than anybody, but scientific evidence is on my side about those who can or cannot recognize B movies or not..
