Can anyone hear Asthenia in the bridge?

Yeah I can sorta hear that mate. And the intro riff reminds me of the bridge from the original Anthem.

Didn't realize his bass tech actually had a coffee company called stage right and then this also brings context to that coffee life line

I thought the coffee line was related to the fact that robert noise always used to share pictures holding his coffee https://www.instagram.com/p/BzA8KMRgfIu/

He was a coffee fanatic. Coffee life was probably something they said to one another when getting a gig ready. Friendly banter between friends that made an impact and became a lyric in tribute. I'm sure a lot of people have had that kind of work relationship with someone.

yeah, as @JarJarBlinkssaid the other day, even if the song is specific to robert noise, it's still a very relatable song because it can apply to all friendships.

this is one of the sweetest songs Mark has ever written. It’s such a breath of fresh air after turpentine and fuck face, that opening synth (?) riff is so sweet, such a reset

Great Mark song, lovely tribute to his friend. Where has this Mark been for the last 10+ years?

Writer's block and lack of confidence in his writing.

I'm glad he's gotten out of whatever rut he was in, songs like this are so much better than most of what's on California and Nine. Yeah some of those songs are okay too, but this and Bad News show that he can still write great, pop-punk sounding songs without it being generic or soulless.

Speaking of Stage Right, I'm very fascinated about how bands figure out their blocking and how it literally never changes over time ?

I always wondered about this too. From a musical standpoint it makes way more sense to have the bassist on the right( stage left), but i love the fact that blink do it the other way around

Why's bass better on the right? Enlighten me.

Bass, together with the drums give the rhythmic foundation of the music and the better they glue together, the tighter/groovier the band sounds. From stage left it is much easier for the drummer and bassist to make eye contact and play together. Its also closer to the hi-hat.

that being said, i‘m not saying this hinders blink in any way, and its probably no big deal for this kind of music since mark runs around stage all the time anyway when he‘s not singing, but the general consensus is that the bassist stands stage left
