MassKirbycide Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Just now, Dont Know What Jans Got said: Lol I didn’t even realize Love is Dangerous was their closer. Like that song but not great of a closer imo. Didn’t ever get into LWY. Anthem was good though. sorry just being honest Hey that’s fair; I know Love is Dangerous in particular isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. I just think that slow come down after the final chorus works really well as the last gasps of the record. Between that and the specific feeling the intro gives me (which I wish I could put into words to convey it, but alas), it just feels like a last song to me, and is the reason why I have a playlist to listen to deluxe out of order. 1 Quote

I am a bigger fan of the song than most. The instrumental is top tier 2 Quote
Scott. Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 I get big OMD vibes especially from the intro. Quote
mahtmd Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 We’re back in time to the best years It really does feel like that ? 2 1 Quote
Scott. Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 Are Toms vocals meant to be over the top with autotune on this? Is that a stylistic choice? Quote

Pirate Mexicano Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 Tom's line of "I'd never thought we’d end up here, We're back in time, to the best years" may be the most meaningful lyric on this album considering everything that's gone on with him and the band since the first breakup. Gets me every time. 2 3 Quote
Starner Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 This song has yet to grow on me. I appreciate what it's going for and I can see how it is fitting as a closer to the album, but I find it rather boring. I guess I just don't vibe with the pre-chorus all that much or some of the vocal additions like Mark doing the woah-oh's. It reminds me of a lot of indie songs that try to do a dreamlike atmosphere. The 8-bit outro is cool so it has that going for it. People seem to be mixed on the bonus tracks which is a shame because See You seems like it could stand in as the finale to the album. For my tastes See You would have replaced Childhood (I know blasphemy). 1 1 Quote
Jan Mortensen Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Childhood doesn't work as a standalone track, and the chorus is a bit too loud/distorted (despite what going for), but it works phenomenally as a closer imo after listening to that whole album. 3 Quote
Scott. Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 I think it’s superb. Easily in my top 3. The guitar in the second verse ? 2 1 Quote
Ghent Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 When all settles years from now, could this be considered one of the best songs on the album? So low key good 4 1 Quote

Jan Mortensen Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 Top 5 lock. Just doesn’t do as well standalone as some others. Anthem, YDKWYG, Turpentine, Bad News, Terrified are other locks Otherside, WWWY can sneak in.. I guess that doesn’t narrow it down well. basically everything but Edging, FIL, (OMT, MTYK, DWM need more rest) can get in the convo 1 Quote
