Hey that’s fair; I know Love is Dangerous in particular isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. I just think that slow come down after the final chorus works really well as the last gasps of the record. Between that and the specific feeling the intro gives me (which I wish I could put into words to convey it, but alas), it just feels like a last song to me, and is the reason why I have a playlist to listen to deluxe out of order.

I am a bigger fan of the song than most. The instrumental is top tier

I think so, it seems to add to the psychedelic vibe in my opinion.

Tom's line of "I'd never thought we’d end up here, We're back in time, to the best years" may be the most meaningful lyric on this album considering everything that's gone on with him and the band since the first breakup.

 

Gets me every time.

This song has yet to grow on me. I appreciate what it's going for and I can see how it is fitting as a closer to the album, but I find it rather boring. I guess I just don't vibe with the pre-chorus all that much or some of the vocal additions like Mark doing the woah-oh's. It reminds me of a lot of indie songs that try to do a dreamlike atmosphere. The 8-bit outro is cool so it has that going for it. People seem to be mixed on the bonus tracks which is a shame because See You seems like it could stand in as the finale to the album. For my tastes See You would have replaced Childhood (I know blasphemy).

Childhood doesn't work as a standalone track, and the chorus is a bit too loud/distorted (despite what going for), but it works phenomenally as a closer imo after listening to that whole album.

Top 5 lock.  Just doesn’t do as well standalone as some others.

 Anthem, YDKWYG, Turpentine, Bad News, Terrified are other locks

Otherside, WWWY can sneak in..

I guess that doesn’t narrow it down well.
